Kinect FreeFall Racers – Meet the Squirrels

FreefallRacers-screenshot-Multiplayer - 03 - Apex and Ace

Deep Silver, with developers Rubicon Organization and Smoking Gun Interactive want you to meet the stars of their upcoming motion controlled racing game Freefall Racers for Kinect for Xbox 360. This week, three out of nine reckless racing squirrels from the game are revealed: Ace, Apex and Unna.

FreefallRacers-art-Ace

Ace has decent all around racing abilities. He heroically leaps into any race and loves to perform dazzling aerial maneuvers – even if his abilities do not always match the legend in his head.

FreefallRacers-art-Apex

Apex is confident and one of the best flying squirrels of all time, and often spends a lot of her time covering for Ace’s penchant for getting in over his head.

FreefallRacers-art-Unna

Unna finds it hard to contain her enthusiasm for anything and loves to play, especially mid-air. She might not be the fastest of the squirrels but she can turn on a dime and collect adrenaline boosts quickly.

Each squirrel character makes every race feel different. You will encounter different power-ups and various elements of surprise while racing through demanding tracks. The easily learned controls and the competitive multiplayer mode makes Freefall Racers a fun arcade game for every age. Using Kinect, Freefall Racers offers a challenging and fun racing experience: gain adrenaline while doing audacious maneuvers and use it to get special boosts that will make the race even more exciting.

The game will be available exclusively on the Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft from September 6th, 2013 for $9.99 / €9,99 / £7.99

Magic: the Gathering 2013 FREE Game for September?

Gameswithgold magic 2013

Magic: the Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 has been outed as the next free game in the Games with Gold promotion on Xbox LIVE (possibly). The Australian dashboard displayed an image with the Magic’ 2013 art shots giving an assumption to the next title in the line-up of free releases in the build up to the Xbox One launch.

The image was spotted by REDDIT user TheGesion as shown above.

Games with Gold will end in December and the current free game available to download until September 1st 2013 is Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2 Case Zero.

Microsoft Store Reveals HALO Xbox One Story Details

In a posting that has since been removed, the Microsoft Store accidentally revealed a taste of what currently is called HALO Xbox One, story will be.

“In possession of a mysterious data chip, Petty Officer John-117, aka Master Chief, confronts a new battery of challenges and tests in a Herculean effort to stay alive in a galaxy where sentient life is mercilessly hunted”

Following from the dramatic conclusion of HALO 4’s story, Master Chief is in a vulnerable place, with the E3 trailer above showing him walking alone in a desert before being confronted by a very large and not seen before Promethean device.

Scheduled for release late 2014, this is the first glimpse at what the story will be, and as a full on HALO Fanboy, this has certainly sparked my interest as its the Story that I keep returning for with HALO.
