Cliff Bleszinski Get’s Back in the Saddle

cliffy-b

Cliff Bleszinski, (aka CliffyB) former Design Director for Epic Games has spread the news via twitter that he is getting back into making games again. It is not yet clear if this announcement is related to the next Gears of War game in development for Xbox One from Black Tusk Studios who are developing the game for Microsoft Studio’s.

Maybe this news is something un-Gears or Xbox One related, but Cliffy B doesn’t seem the “small-fry” kind of guy to us?

We’ll keep you posted if this gets even more interesting!

Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries at Gamescom 2014

GriN today revealed that Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries, its non-sugarcoated fairy tale platformer, will be showcased at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany from 13-17 August 2014. GriN will have a special playable build of Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries in the consumer area at Gamescom.

Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries is a unique interpretation of the French fairy tale, depicting a fearless Little Red Riding Hood as she embarks on a vendetta across a rich fantasy setting – including dangerous smoke-spewing factories, charming medieval villages and woodland landscapes twisted by evil forces.

To celebrate the first public playtest of the early build of Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries, GriN will be running a special ‘high score challenge’, with the top scorers being in with a chance of winning limited edition Woolfe Gamescom prizes. Cosplayers are also encouraged to turn up as Red Riding Hood and have their picture taken at the GriN photo booth, with the best being shared through the Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries community channels.

GriN founder and CEO Wim Wouters said:

“We’re excited that Gamescom will be the first time that the public will be able to play Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries. Whilst the single level demo is still very much pre-beta it should give Gamescom attendees a taste of what awaits them when Woolfe is released next year – we can’t wait to hear what the public thinks of our dark fairy tale!”

Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries is part of Microsoft’s ID@Xbox publishing program, was nominated for a Selected Projects award during Game Connection America 2014, and was fast-tracked through Steam Greenlight. Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries is scheduled for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC during Q1 2015.

Xbox One Profile Updates for Xbox.com

xbox-one-logo-wallpaper

Major Nelson has confirmed via his infamous blog that the much-needed improvements to Xbox.com for Xbox One profiles is soon to be ready available. Currently for Xbox One owners, profiles are fixed on the last games that you played on Windows 8.1 or Xbox 360 (with Achievements) but “your Xbox One profile, Achievements, friends, followers, and game clips – will be viewable on Xbox.com beginning next week.”

The Xbox One has been around since November 2013 and Xbox.com has previously been lacking in features that make the site and the new console more social. Coupled with a decline in forum members on Xbox.com it seems Microsoft and the Xbox team should hopefully start looking at new ways for member engagement after the next update?

Here’s a preview of what to expect:

Watch the new Fenix Rage gameplay trailer

Costa Rican indie game developer Green Lava Studios presents a spanking brand new trailer for their anticipated hardcore action-platformer, Fenix Rage. Showcasing “The Moorsky” world three level, this gameplay trailer shows off new devious level designs, additional game mechanics, and the frantic pace of action that has become a trademark of this charmingly frustrating title.

An inspired and frenetically-paced 2D action platformer, Fenix Rage tests players’ ability to run, jump, and dash their way through a maze of dangerous obstacles, across hundreds of lightning-paced levels, all in an effort to track down a shadowy villain. Loads of different enemies, slick retro-inspired music, and vivid level landscapes await gamers with the mettle to play. Players will struggle mightily to climb the Leaderboard with the best time and fewest deaths and then rub it in the face of their friends.

Slated for release in Fall 2014, Fenix Rage will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Windows PC and Mac platforms.

Pure Pool for Xbox One Coming Soon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuUqKEoO78w

Many pool simulators have claimed to have cracked the game on console in the past, but VooFoo Studios’ Pure Pool offers fans the greatest reason of all time to pick up a virtual cue – it’s the next best thing to real life pool. Publisher Ripstone showcased the game earlier this month at E3, and everyone who got to experience it in action felt the effects first hand.

VooFoo Studios has a growing reputation for superior game simulations with stunning hyper real visuals, from Hustle Kings to Pure Chess, and their latest opus raises the bar higher than ever. Launching on Xbox One and other platforms, Pure Pool offers immediately accessible gameplay with high quality visuals and flawless physics, but there’s so much more to it than that.

Pure Pool is a socially connected game through and through and will immerse you in a bustling virtual pool hall packed with online players, all just itching to get racked up and take you on! Be it in a one-off head-to-head or as part of one of many global online leagues.

However, the unique Pure DNA profiling feature even gives solo gameplay a social dimension, allowing you to practice your shots against friends in their absence by playing an AI interpretation based on their playing styles. Players will even be able to take on the developers, simply by downloading their DNA profiles – which will be free at launch.

Pure Pool will be available to download soon, but for now just feast your eyes upon what lies in store… and prepare for the most authentic pool experience from the comfort of your couch!
