Grab your cape and spandex as DC Universe Online comes to Xbox One

It’s a great day for all you wannabe Super Heroes or villains as Daybreak Game Company has officially released DC Universe Online (DCUO) on the Xbox One. What’s it all about though, well are you sitting comfortably, then I will begin.

Lex Luthor has traveled back through time with news of a dire future. While the heroes and villains spent years battling amongst themselves, Brainiac has fed on their powers, building strength to return to Earth and destroy humanity. To change the future, Lex has come back to set off a device that bestows superpowers to thousands of everyday citizens and give humanity a fighting chance. Can Brainiac be stopped, or is this another nefarious Lex Luthor plot?

DCUO allows players to create their own Super Heroes or Super-Villians in the massive multplayer worlds of Metropolis, Gotham City and beyond. Armed with your favourite superpowers you can fight for justice and chaos or as one of the 40 available DC Comic characters including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Joker or Harley Quinn in Legends PvP and PvE games.

DC Universe Online 1

When asked about DC Universe Online coming to Xbox One, SJ Muller, Creative Director said “Xbox One players can finally channel their inner Super Hero or Super-Villain. Whether they want to run fast like The Flash, fly like Superman or wield ice like Captain Cold, we have more than five years’ worth of content to adventure through in DC Universe Online. DCUO is the only MMO set in the DC Comics universe, and its physics-based combat allows players to really feel like they are part of this action-packed Super Hero world.”

DCUO is available to download for free via the Xbox Games Store and as an added bonus Daybreak Games has created three exclusive items for Xbox One players in the form of the Powered-UP Cape, Powered-UP Emblem and the Vapour Aura. So make sure you grab them as soon as you can. For more information about DC Universe Online check out there official site.

Yesterday Origins announced for Xbox One

yesterday origins

I like it when a new title is announced. The sense of excitement surrounding a unknown quantity and the anticipation of what might be a great title are as fresh now as when I was a lad. French publisher, Microids, have today announced that they plan to release a new adventure title this year on Xbox One.

Yesterday Origins by Pendulo Studios will be hitting the console on the 29th of September. It looks to take players on an adventure filled with mystery across the world and through the mists of time itself.

Pendulo Studios have 20 years of experience producing adventure games with compelling stories and memorable characters. They are the developers behind the award-winning “Runaway” saga and Yesterday Origins represents the first time that the developers have produced a 3D title. This allows for unprecedented visual effects, dynamic shadowing and realistic physics for in-game objects.

The game itself is centered around John Yesterday and his partner, Pauline. This pair of immortals own an antiques store in Paris and travel across the globe through multiple time periods. The adventure will start as young John is imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition for witchcraft. Nobody was expecting that. This launches a series of events that will change his life forever. He’s certainly caught the attention of the Church authorities at this point due to an ability to understand and speak every language he encounters, even if he hasn’t managed the ability to resurrect at this point in the game.

Although there’s an element of time hopping, Yesterday Origins is an adventure set mostly in the present day. You’ll try to unravel the secrets to John and Pauline’s immortality. The 25-odd other members of the cast, all fully-voiced, have different plans though. This leads to a jolly jaunt across the globe with adventuring controls suited to console game controllers.

Yesterday Origins is to be released on Xbox One on the 29th of September.

Coffin Dodgers coming soon

coffin dodgers

A few months ago, we brought you news of a new, wacky racer coming to Xbox One. Coffin Dodgers is the story of eight geriatrics, on a never ending quest to race around their neighbourhood. OK, so it’s actually seven old age pensioners, plus the Grim Reaper, but who’s counting?

Developer, Milky Tea Studios, along with Wales Interactive have now revealed the release date for this Mario Kart-a-like on Ralgex. Coffin Dodgers will see life in the slow lane become more than fast and furious as they race for their very soul. You’ll take on the role of one of the seven quirky retirement village residents. Each character will pilot a pimped up mobility scooter, armed with a variety of home made weapons and gadgets. These aid the rider in the racing battle against The Grim Reaper and his army of zombies to quite literally save their soul.

Coffin Dodgers will feature “Road Rash” style player-to-player gameplay with odd geriatric gadgets and wacky weapons. Two-to-four player split-screen multiplayer mode will allow you to cause havoc with your family and friends. Each character will be affected by proper ragdoll physics and their souped-up mobility scooter can be upgraded with modifications to suit your driving preferences.

Battle your way through the story mode to unlock and play as The Grim Reaper himself, all set around the beautiful and relaxing setting of Sunny Pines retirement village. You can also challenge yourself, which is like the way actual old people talk to themselves, with the 3D open world, ‘Crazy Grandad’ Mode.

Meet the residents of Sunny Pines:

Coffin Dodgers will be under starters orders on Xbox One on the 6th of May 2016, 3 days after the PS4 release listed in the only launch trailer available so far, below.

Fallout 4 mods coming to Xbox One this May

Many inhabitants of Fallout 4’s Wasteland have been waiting patiently for the promised PC mod support to arrive. However, the wait is nearly over as Bethesda announce mod support will arrive in May, 2016, for Xbox One gamers.

For more information on how mods will change how you play Fallout 4, check out the post on the Bethesda website. They also included the following video, showcasing the new Creation Kit, the centre of mod development for Fallout 4.

The Creation Kit and mod support is due to arrive on Xbox One May, 2016, and will come to the PS4 in June.

On your bike – Gears of War 4 Collector’s Edition

Unsurprisingly, Gears of War 4 will also ship as a Collector’s Edition, either with a standard or Ultimate copy of the game. The centre piece of the edition is a statue of JD Fenix astride a COG Bike – it will look mighty fine next to the Marcus Fenix stature from Gears of War 3’s Epic Edition!

Costing a cool £199.99, the Ultimate Collector’s Edition can be pre-ordered online from GAME in the UK or you can drop in store, but be prepared to drop £50 on the deposit – apparently it’s to discourage ‘time wasters’.

Here is what the collector’s edition includes:

  • JD Fenix on COG Bike Premium Statue
  • Exclusive Lithograph
  • Frag Grenade Keychain
  • In Game Bonus Content: Includes 3 Gears Crates
  • Premium Packaging
