The 12 Days of TiXmas – Honourable Mentions

So here we are, the final day of 2016 and the final day of TiXmas.

What a year it’s been, there have been some great games and some bad ones, but it’s been fun experiencing them all.

Today, Greg looks at the TiX Honourable Mentions, great games that didn’t quite make the cut. Take a look at the video and let us know what you think.

Finally, from all the team at ThisIsXbox, thank you for all of your support this year. We all love working on the site and trying to making it as good as possible. Here’s hoping we have an even better 2017.

Happy New Year!

The 12 Days of TiXmas – Game of the Year 2016

Welcome to Day 11, where we announce our Game of the Year.

Despite our arguments over Shooter of the Year, this was a game we were all in complete agreement over. The campaign was brilliant and the multiplayer will keep us playing for a long time to come.

Congratulations to Gears of War 4, the ThisIsXbox Game of the Year 2016. Have a watch of our video to see why we enjoyed the game so much.

Tomorrow will see us publish our final video of TiXmas, where we will cover all of our honourable mentions. Then it’s time to get ready for another great year of gaming in 2017. See you tomorrow.

The 12 Days of TiXmas – Shooter of the Year

We’re approaching the end of our GOTY content and today we get to announce Shooter of the Year.

We won’t lie, we argued a lot about this one, over many hours, two of us voted for one game, two of us for another. We all stuck to our guns and time was pressing so we agreed that Shooter of the Year goes to…

Battlefield 1 & Titanfall 2

Both games are great in their own way and as you can tell from the video we all felt very passionate about our choices! Let us know if you agree in the comments below, see you tomorrow.

The 12 Days of TiXmas – Puzzle Game of the Year

We hope you are all enjoying your Christmas break, hopefully you are not back at work and have a few days of gaming left.

Today see the team announce the winner of Puzzle Game of the Year. Our huge congrats goes to The Witness, a wonderful looking game with more puzzles than anyone could really need.

Have a look at our video to see why we liked the game so much, ignore th fact I don’t solve many puzzles while playing!

Also don’t forget to join us tomorrow for Shooter of the Year, this was our hardest decision yet! See you then!

The 12 days of TiXmas – RPG of the Year

Well that went far too quickly! Like me, your house is now full of leftovers, but hopefully a stack of new games to tuck into!

We’re continuing our 12 Days of TiXmas by announcing our winner of our RPG of the Year.

It was released late in the year, but Final Fantasy 15 did enough to convince the team it was a worthy winner, we have another video below for you to find out more about why it was a worthy winner.

Tommorrow we’ll reveal the winner of Puzzle Game of the Year. Can you work it out? Let us know below…

The 12 days of TiXmas – DLC of the year

Merry Christmas!

By now you’ll have opened your presents and eating your Christmas Dinner, next on the list was bound to be heading over to find out who won Best DLC.

Yet again, this was a fairly simple category, scoring some major points in its review. Congratulations goes to the Witcher 3 DLC, Blood and Wine.

Have a watch of our video to find out why Derek enjoyed the game so much. We’ll see you tomorrow for our next winner…

The 12 Days of TiXmas – Racing Game of the Year

So here we are, only a day before the dude in red treats us with games, consoles, headsets and alcohol, but for now let’s talk about Racing Game of the Year!

This one was pretty simple, so congratulations to Forza Horizon 3!

Playground Games have somehow managed to keep the third version of the Horizon games fresh and simply stunning to look at. Check out our video (and my awesome driving) to find out why we love the game as much as we do!

Hopefully you’ll spare a few minutes tomorrow to visit for our next award, if not we hope you have an amazing Christmas Day!
