Rob Bangers

This episode of Rob’s Bangers is a little late this week due to some work issues, I won’t bother you with all that but let’s get stuck in with this week’s suggestions. I have a varied music taste and I am a firm believer that everyone should try anything twice, that goes for anything in life in general really. My taste goes full circle and I will always come back to the same genre at some point and that normally some of the hardest metal out there, as you’ll see from my selection.

This week’s Rob’s Bangers has been inspired by Decembers games with gold, Warhammers: End Times-Vermintide makes an appearance and if you liked the Left4Dead series then you’ll love this, purely because it’s essentially the same game but set in different times. Hull-based band Black Tongue released a song by the same name and it comes from their album The Unconquerable Dark, which by the way is a must in anyone’s library. The members of Black Tongue have tried their hand at various guises but this album is definitely something I would recommend to you. For the second track this week is also a hard brutal tune inspired by the second game GWG title which is Tell-Tales Back to the Future game, because of that I have chosen satan worshippers anthem Turn Back Time by Aqua, what? don’t judge me.

Battlefield 1 expansion “Turning Tides” launching December 11th

Players will soon be able to experience battles on land, in the air, and at sea on the newest front with Battlefield 1 Turning Tides, the third expansion pack available for Battlefield 1.

Battlefield 1 Turning Tides will be released in two waves – the first wave is coming on December 11th for Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owners. Players will be able to fight across a duo of epic maps, including Cape Helles and Achi Baba. In a new Operation set on these maps, players can take part in the 1915 British amphibious assault of the Gallipoli peninsula. There will be a new Infiltrator Elite Class, six weapons and two melee weapons added to your arsenal, and you’ll get to rule the waves with the L-Class Destroyer. The second wave, coming January 2018, puts players in the North Sea to tackle two other unique maps: Zeebrugge and Heligoland Blight, with the chance to charge into battle with the new Royal Marines and spawn on the C-Class Airship.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus gets a free trial

Unsure about Wolfenstein 2? On the Fence? Still not sure if its worth buying even after reading my review where I scored it a whopping 9.5/10!

Well, Bethesda have announced that a free trial is now available for Xbox One,PS4 and PC, which includes the entire first level. If you decide to purchase after that then your progress will carry over to the full game.

Considering you can also purchase Wolfenstein 2 for around the £20 mark at the moment, my advice will be to forget about the trial and just GO AND BUY IT!

Gears of War 4 and six more titles coming to Game Pass

What is in Your Destiny? More Experience Points!

An eagle-eyed Redditor had spotted that the experience points (XP) earned whilst playing Destiny 2 wasn’t being received correctly, so they did a lot of digging and testing. The thread can be seen here – click moi – but the TLDR is below, plus a nice graph for those Cayde-types.

If you earn XP slow, the ingame display is correct. If you play normally, the game drops some XP (~ 50%). If you power-grind XP the game will drop most of your XP (in testing, I managed to lose ~95% of the XP during an ‘enemies moving against each other’ event

Word from the Vanguard has since come down – report here

“We’ve seen community discussion around XP gain in Destiny. After reviewing our data, we agree that the system is not performing the way we’d like it to. Today, we’d like to describe what’s going on under the hood, and talk about what you can expect going forward when it comes to earning XP in Destiny 2.

Currently, XP will scale up when playing longer or fixed duration activities like Crucible competitive multiplayer matches and the Leviathan Raid, and XP will scale down when playing activities that can be quickly, repeatedly chained, like grinding Public Events. We are not happy with the results, and we’ve heard the same from the community.

Effective immediately, we are deactivating this system.

As a result, players will see XP earn rates change for all activities across the board, but with all values being displayed consistently in the user interface. Over the course of the next week, we will be watching and reviewing XP game data to ensure that these changes meet our expectations, as well as yours. Any additional updates to this system will be communicated to you via our official channels.”

I, Guardian, am unsure how to comment, so I shall not. However, how do you all feel about this?

See you all on Mercury.

New Ways to Play in Destiny 2 – Curse Of Osiris DLC

November 21st saw the second release of content detail for the Curse Of Osiris DLC for Destiny 2. The TiX Guardians are eagerly awaiting this new content as it’s fair to say the endless nights of Destiny 2 have ceased as we’ve all reached our maximum power levels. As previously reported, this expansion coincides with the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro updates.

The Curse of Osiris will contain the biggest Public Event ever. Gate-keepers will be the focal point and once killed, players will be able to pick up keys as a way of progressing through the public event. With this Public Event, there are different islands which allow players to move around the environment, opening up space to other areas that you wouldn’t normally be able to get to when you’re patrolling.

The Lighthouse will make it’s return and players will find significant changes. A new area called The Forge is a Vex weapon wall which shows players’ progression, helping you build various weapons which can be used as end-game weapons. There will also be mysteries players can solve and piece together in the Lighthouse space and Brother Vance will provide new adventures, which will be the cornerstone for players to explore Mercury.

Players can challenge themselves with Heroic Adventures, and modifiers are being added to the Adventures which change it up every time you play. Players’ experiences will be changing with Story Strikes, and in EP1 there will be more Strikes shown as part of the main story which will tell players more about the Campaign.

There is also The Infinite Forest! This is a large Vex simulation constructed to explore infinite possibilities throughout time and is the last place Osiris was last seen. The Infinite Forest offers players a different experience every time, and a great experience whether you’re exploring the past, present or future
Ikora will set players through the forest in order to find demons and unlock the gate.
New ways to explore Mercury – players will experience different versions of Mercury as we move through time, with the Infinite Forest acting as a pathway from the present day into simulated versions of the past, present and future, giving a sense of the unknown, of wonder
Adventures all have different combat races, i.e. – playing one for the Hive or the Fall and players will have a lot of variety. End caps are all hand crafted. Encounters are custom.

For the full story check out Bungies Twitch channel where you can see a replay of the livestream.
