343 apologises for 20gig Halo Master Chief Collection update

Xbox One

Frank O’Connor, boss of 343 Industries has apologised for a 20GB day-one download for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

It was announced that as well taking up the full 45 gigabytes that a Blu-Ray could hold, there would be an additional 20gig day-one update for the Halo Master Chief Collection. O’Connor address a forum post on NeoGAF saying:

The game is designed to run as a single, unified product, digital is seamless obviously, but we also wanted disc users to have the same experience, without swapping discss. Since the bulk of it is MP or MP related, the logic is sound. There will ALSO be a TU in there, but that in itself is a tiny fraction of the content.

He believes that it will be all worth in the end but he understands how frustrating it will be for some.

Will this convince you to go for a digital version or will you stick with the disc? Let us know below.
