Netflix Now Available On UK Consoles

Today Netflix has brought their streaming content services to the UK and Ireland, having only previously been available in Canada and the US.

Netflix is available to download now directly from the App Marketplace, and anyone can get a one month free trial for TV programmes and films to be streamed instantly over the Internet so long as you have an Xbox LIVE Gold account. After the free trial, it will cost £5.99 a month for continued usage thereafter.

The complete UK catalog includes TV programmes such as The Only Way is Essex, Prison Break, and Damages as well as a selection of great films such as 3:10 to Yuma, Blitz and The English Patient, with new content added continuously.

will we ever get netflix in australia cause we need that here instead of that crappy crackle app we got i m willing to pay i know the service is great cause all my american friends tell me you need netflix dude but cause of region coding app wont work here do you think you could take away the region coding so any country can get access to netflix that would be awesome if you could as some other apps aren’t region coded

In the UK, I prefer Lovefilm.com from Amazon over Netflix anyday, but Netflix is heading for Australia – just not a confirmed date as of when. Currently Netflix are working with Foxtel, Telstra and BigPond Movie services to secure licensing deals before working a full launch.
There is a workaround to watch Netflix films on a PC from Australia:

but you can’t work round it on the Xbox 360, even with an American gamer profile it will content lock you out.

Yeah i know about region locking well lets hope the netflix come out here and hope they get rid of this nursing home app called Crackle, i’ve always wondered about bigpond movies on xbox that would be cool or Vudu Hd movies would be cool also
