Activision have officially confirmed that their next installment of their popular FPS franchise will indeed be Black Ops 2.
Following all previous leaks, Activision has finally confirmed the next installment of their popular First Person Shooter franchise will be named Black Ops 2, they have also confirmed the game’s future setting.
“Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare,”
Along with the confirmation, the first images for the game were leaked ahead of the formal announcement and confirm the near future setting of the game.
There have been 3 images leaked so far showing what we know to be the games Quadrotor drone in action, however only 2 of them seem to actually show something that draws speculation as to the games future setting.
From the looks of things the Quadrotor will probably be some kind of killstreak award in the Multiplayer as well as used in the campaign at some point, going on the image alone they look like some kind of awesome flying machine gun, something which we all wish had been attached to the popular flying drone gadget a couple of years ago. The other image shows what can be assumed to be a player character holding a rather large assault rifle, and looking pretty badass whilst doing so.
All of this will mean a rather sizable change for the series, that being the future. We look forward to being able to bring you more on this as it arrives and be sure to keep a very keen eye out for the emergance of the trailer later tonight below:
