Yet Another HUGE Injustice: Gods Among Us News Dump

…Round 1 Battle Arena Finals, New Characters, Alternate Costumes, Dev Diaries, Speculation and DLC.…

Injustice Banner

As it stands, there is too much news spilling out on the anticipated Injustice:Gods Among Us for us to handle.

We have a huge post here to excite you, it involves week 4 of Battle Arena, which are the final fights of round 1. We also have character reveals, and teased character reveals, a story mode trailer, developer diaries for the newly announced Red Son DLC, as well as a reveal trailer for the Blackest Night DLC pack.

Let’s start off with Week 4 of Round 1 of Injustice: Battle Arena. Over the past four weeks, NetherRealm Studios has treated their fans to a battle royale starring their cast where you can vote for the winner. This week we have Superman vs. Sinestro, and Green Arrow vs. Hawkgirl, who wins? Check it out below.

CVG went to the trouble of uploading us a nifty new story mode trailer starring the menacing business tycoon, Lex Luthor. It shows quite a bit of gameplay footage and gives some insight on the story.

DLC time! Now we all know that developers announcing DLC before the release of a game has become taboo amongst the general consumer population. But when a company goes through this much effort for pre-order incentive DLC, you have to give them a hand. Here we have the reveal of the Blackest Night DLC pack. It features a new zombie inspired costume for the cast and an entire zombie mode. Check it out below.

As well as the Blackest Night pack, we also have a developer diary detailing the Red Son DLC pack. Red son is a story arc in the DC Universe that shows how the story would have gone if Superman had landed in mother Russia rather than Smallville. The pack features alternate Red Son costumes for Superman, Wonder Woman, and Solomon Grundy. It also adds an extra 20 missions for you to play.

The official Injustice Facebook page has uploaded some nice screenshots of The Green Arrow’s alternate costume. It appears as though every character in the game has a multitude of alternate costumes. The overload of content that NetherRealm became famous for on Mortal Kombat 9 has definitely carried over to Injustice. Check out the screens below.

Onto the character news. Gamestop have a new promo for Injustice, fans are given the ability to work together to help reveal a new character in the game. Although the goal is yet to be reached, a picture of Doomsday with an unlocked icon has been found on the website.

Ed Boon continues to hint at new characters over at his official Twitter page. Boon went on to tease us with this picture of fan-favourite Lobo with an accompanying message.

“Hmmm… This guy?”

He then went on to address his followers in something of a Q and A that further hinted the inclusion of Lobo.

Phreakar: DC fighting game leaves out its most bad ass character. Why no Lobo? A total “Injustice!”

Boon: Not all characters announced. :)

SolidSantanero: Lobo sucks. Where is Doomsday?

Boon: No he doesn’t. Stay tuned.

Last but not least, Ed Boon posted a tweet that asked fans to vote between two Injustice DLC characters. Those characters are Martian Manhunter and Professor Zoom.

Martan Manhunter

Martian Manhunter (J’onn J’onzz) is one of the core members of the Justice League of America. His powers include telepathy, x-ray vision, invisibility, flight, and super strength.

Professor Zoom

Professor Zoom (Eobard Thawne) who is also known as Reverse-Flash, is the arch-nemesis of The Flash. His powers are a carbon copy of the powers that The Flash uses. These include super-human speed, running on water, creating cyclones, and vibrating his molecules to pass through solid objects.

Early reports indicate that Martian Manhunter will win the vote hands down, with fans voicing the opinion that they don’t need two mirror characters.

So that’s about all we have for you. Hope you enjoyed the read.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is out April 23rd in North America, and April 29th in Europe.
