With the launch of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate literally just around a grubby Victorian London street corner, Ubisoft have taken their near-infamous marketing tactics to new levels. With AC: Black Flag, we had teams of pirates trying to sink each other online and for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, they’ve done something even more mind-boggling. They’ve reinvented the Internet.
That’s right. Ubisoft have taken the concept of the search engine and applied it to the 19th Century. This rich, historical research tool has been designed to look like the search engine our great-great-great-grandparents used, back in 1868.
The search engine is filled with hundreds of pieces of original content, all painstakingly researched and catalogued, which will allow fans to discover all manner of forgotten oddities and facts from this celebrated era. The search engine is live now and can be found here. Just be thankful you can’t smell it.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be rattling onto an Xbox One near you, via carriage of course, on the 23rd of October.
