I've been gaming for longer than I care to remember and spent four years writing for another XCN website leading a 10 strong team. Now I'm in charge of TiX alongside Dave Moran – I hope you enjoy what we do!

Check out this superb Dying Light inspired parkour video

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for Dying Light to arrive later this month and this real-life Parkour video has only made me want the game more. The short film is shot from the point-of-view of a runner on a frantic escape from zombies after they interrupted his scavenger hunt for supplies.

The video was created here in the UK by Ampisound, who specialise in Parkour and Free-running videos.

Something For The weekend: Unlockables then and now

We’re back! Welcome to the start of 2015’s ‘Something for the weekend’, a weekly post that has a tenuous link to gaming. This week we bring you the online comic artist Scott Ramsoomair of and issue #318 in particular – Skillz.

The way you earn stuff ingame has taken a decline with the greed of publishers and their micro-transactions that offer a way to bypass earning items by buying them with real money, this is portrayed perfectly in Scott’s depiction of how stuff was earned ‘then’ and ‘now’.

Enjoy and don’t forget to go and check him out online and on twitter.

Bladestorm’s release slips by two weeks

It seems Koei Tecmo have been hit with another delay – Bladestorm Nightmare has slipped to March 20th, two weeks later than originally planned. If you’ve yet to come across the strategic Troop battles of Bladestorm and like being placed at the centre of historic inspired battles with a story arc that develops as you play, then check out the above trailer and pencil March 20th in to your calendars.

Achtung! There’s zombies coming to Xbox One

Zombies seem to be quite the regular occurrence in gaming these days so it makes sense that now is the right time to resurrect the cult PC series Zombie Army – the spin-off Sniper Elite shooter.

The trilogy, which is marked as “releasing early 2015”, is dusting off its bones and rising up from the crypt with a new lease of life courtesy of Rebellion and comes loaded with new content that includes remastered versions of the two titles that launched on PC titles and a copy of the “never-seen-before” third game.

The remastered 1080p trilogy features the classic x-ray kill cam that made Sniper Elite so popular, 15 campaign missions, five horde maps, eight playable characters (four of each sex) and 25 weapons/traps – all of which can be played with three other players.

Check out some artwork below and the trailer to whet your appetite for the undead!

Assassin’s Creed gets the MEGA Bloks treatment

Ubisoft have teamed up with MEGA Bloks to create six collectible construction kits featuring Ezio, Arno and Kenway. Now I can’t say I was a huge fan of Connor but it’s a shame Altair hasn’t received his own set!

  • Cannon Strike $9.99
  • Borgia Guard Pack $14.99
  • Pirate Crew Pack $14.99

343 Industries have updated their support post about their continual efforts to eradicate all bugs from the troubled Master Chief Collection. The next update, which includes UI optimisation and updates to a “variety of other areas”, will be available sometime next week – keep an eye out on their post for further details on when the update becomes available and what it contains.

There will be an update to MCC this Thursday that brings new achievements for multiplayer and Spartan Ops. Don’t forget owners of the edition can also get access to the Halo 5 multiplayer beta through the main menu of the game.

If you have pre-ordered Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires then you will be pleased to hear that Koei Tecmo have that there are several goodies for those that have pre-ordered. GAME have the ‘Male Edit Armour Set 1’ and have the ‘Female Edit Armour Set 2’. Independent retailers also get a look in on the pre-order bonuses with ‘Date Mashamune, Guan Yinping, Guo Jia and Tenko Special Costume Sets.

Now for the bad news… Dynasty Warriors has suffered a slight knock back to its planned release window of January 30th – the new date is February 27th but that means that there’s plenty of time to order Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires to bag one of the bonuses listed above – in the meantime, check out the opening movie to the game and prepare once more for some awesome feudal warfare.
