To boldly go where no VR has gone before, Star Trek Bridge Crew is set to receive brand new missions starting May 22.
Fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation will be particularly happy that the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D is headed to Bridge Crew via the game’s first piece of DLC. Priced at £11.99, the DLC adds cloaked Romulan fleets and the notorious Borg to the Ongoing Missions mode, which has been bolstered with Patrol and Resistance missions.
While out on patrol, players will be able to free roam while receiving random objective requests and experience various encounters. Meanwhile Resistance mode pits you against the Borg. As if that isn’t enough, the DLC also introduces a new role to the bridge – Operations. This role is focused on crew management – deploying NPC crew members to various parts of the ship.
Whether you play in VR or with the traditional TV setup, Star Trek Bridge Crew is a lot of fun – and not just for Trekkies either.
How do you better the timed Ghost Recon Wildlands Predator event? I honestly didn’t think it was possible – but Ubisoft have gone and proved me wrong.
It might not be the news Splinter Cell fans were hoping for, but starting April 10 and as part of Operation 1, the Ghosts will be teaming up with Sam for a special free crossover event that can be played either solo or with up to three other players in four player co-op, which is set at night and in true Splinter Cell style – stealth is the name of the game.
“We are all super excited to bring such an iconic character as Sam Fisher into Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” said Nouredine Abboud, Senior Producer at Ubisoft. “Teaming up with Sam Fisher will require the Ghosts’ stealth, cleverness and tactics…we can’t wait to see the reactions of our players as they face this new challenge!”
It’s not just Sam that’s coming to Bolivia either, a whole host of unlockables can be yours, including Sam’s iconic goggles. The mission will remain part of the game but the rewards can only be earned if you beat the challenges by May 16.
From tomorrow, March 13, you can download a brand new adventure for Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The Curse of the Pharaohs is set four years after the climax of the main campaign, in the capital city of Thebes. A strange curse has befallen the region and Bayek is investigating the plague and what has caused it.
With a level cap boosted to 55, Bayek also has new crafting levels – with appropriate resources at his disposable – and new abilities. These will undoubtedly come in handy while exploring the secret tombs of the Valley of the Kings, and the temples of Karnak and Luxor.
The DLC is available to purchase separately or as part of the Season Pass.
…well, it will save you a measly 10p if you pick up the Champions character pack on Xbox One rather than PlayStation 4. Priced at £1.59 and £1.69 respectively, the pack includes a host of new characters that push the total rooster of potential playable heroes/villains to over 200.
As the name suggests, the DLC includes characters from Marvel’s Champions series, which follows the lives of a group of teenage Super Heroes who believe they know better than their adult Avenger mentors, breaking away to form their own team and recruiting other disillusioned teenagers to their cause.
The DLC includes Amadeus Cho, Nova, Ironheart, Devil Dinosaur, Moon Girl, Viv, Wasp (Nadia Pym), and Hawkeye (Kate Bishop).
Neverwinter: Shroud of Souls, the latest expansion for the free-to-play MMORPG based on the Dungeons & Dragons franchise will launch on June 20.
This free update to the game’s last expansion, The Cloaked Ascendancy, includes an all-new adventure, the Loadouts feature, a customisable Guild Hall social space, a new Strongholds event called “Marauders” and more.
Morlanth, a dragonborn necromancer, has escaped from captivity beneath the River District, unleashing the Shroud of Souls. With a spectral force at her command, she looks to harness even more powerful spirits to act as generals for her forces. Adventurers must set out to stop this evil plan and restore peace to the River District once more.
The latest update features a new Loadouts feature allows players to create customised character builds, complete with gear configurations, for quick swapping across Neverwinter’s PvE, dungeons, PvP and more. There has also been several improvements to Strongholds guild gameplay, including a dynamic “Marauders” event and an all-new customisation Guild Hall social space where players can relive their adventures with others and showcase their achievements in Neverwinter.
Available as part of the season pass, Fallen Ghosts is the second expansion to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. The DLC can be downloaded from May 30 and on June 6 as an individual purchase.
Fallen Ghosts features 15 new missions and is set after the main events of the campaign. The country of Bolivia is in a state of civil war and it’s up to the Ghosts to evac all CIA operative and US civilians before the newly formed Los Extranjeros eliminates all Americans still on Bolivian soil.
Similar to the previous expansion, you begin the fight as a new character at level 30 and access to six new weapons. Check out the Ubi Blog for the full run down on Fallen Ghosts.
The May update for Gears of War 4 has dropped and Carmine has be reborn.
This month brings a brand-new map designed by The Coalition in Dawn, along with the first returning map from Gears of War 2 – Security!
Set in a stunning Outsider village built around an abandoned mining colony, Dawn is a map defined by two defensive structures – the high ground of the bar, and the entrenched mine on the low side. Prepare for a new kind of fight centered around the vital Dropshot spawn, as it’s surrounded by both high and low flanks and features a risk-it-all one-way vault to secure the weapon.
Fans have been asking for Security since the launch of Gears of War 4. The Coalition has worked extensively to bring this map up to modern graphical and gameplay standards, with improvements that incorporate Gears 4’s close-cover combat, Horde and proper support for respawn-based modes like TDM.
This new reimagined setting for Security takes you to a fight over a glorious decadent COG depository, with stacks of gold bars providing makeshift cover throughout the map. Defensive lasers bar access to key parts of the map, so prepare for a tough fight for the button that disables the lasers to give your team control over the flow of combat.
Multi-GPU Support Arrives on Windows 10
Multi-GPU support arrives with the May Update for our Windows 10 players. The Windows 10 team have been hard at work implementing support for users who use multiple graphics card setups, and now fans can take full advantage of their setup to really push the visuals of Gears of War 4.
In Gears of War 2, the plucky Benjamin Carmine met his horrible end inside the Riftworm. This month, you’ll be able to find Benjamin Carmine back from the dead in one of the May Gear Packs as Zombie Ben Carmine – complete with his missing lower torso innards.
There is a a bunch of other content that you can read about on Xbox Wire.
This week saw a glitch in the Frontier as Titanfall 2 got some more free DLC in the form of new maps, new game modes and some more features.
A medium-sized map designed for objective modes and inspired by Captain Lastimosa’s home planet of Harmony. Vertical drops and long, twisting paths dominate the environment, perfect for chaining together long wall runs to seamlessly glide across the map.
