Team17 reveal Worms W.M.D full weapons set

Worms WMD

I’ve played Worms for a long time. Team17, Worms’ creators, have been gaming for 25 years and they’ve produced in Worms, a classic franchise that has stood the test of time. The latest iteration of the wriggly garden warfare merchants is due out later this year and the veteran developers are ready to show the world what destruction it will include.

Worms W.M.D will feature 35 standard weapons and utilities, including three brand spanking new and shiny weapons. The Dodgy Phone Battery, Unwanted Present and OMG strike are all going to make their debut in this title.

Launch the Dodgy Phone Battery on to the landscape and watch it deliver a short sharp shock to any worms that are unlucky enough to be in the vicinity. Don’t think you can hide behind metallic objects either as they’ll conduct this and you’ll still get a shocking surprise.

The Unwanted Present, speaking of surprises, will explode after a player-determined amount of turns. If you see one, run away, as it’ll be more trick than treat.

The OMG Strike will call in a satellite to fire down a laser capable of causing huge destruction. This rare new weapon is on a par with the Concrete Donkey and Armageddon.

On top of those, the recently revealed crafting feature adds the ability to craft many more new weapons such as the Bazooka Pie, Alloy Baseball Bat, Electric Sheep and Stinking Carpet Bomb. It’s this crafting ability that increases the weapons count to over 80 in total. Personalise your wormy battle with just the weapons you want to use as this will also add in more tactical gameplay.

Worms W.M.D will also feature up to six player local and online multiplayer fun as well as an extensive single player campaign.

Worms W.M.D will be available on Xbox One later this year. Here’s an overview of the weapons you could be aiming and firing at friend and foe alike, soon.

Loot Crate offer six different Halo Legendary Crates

Loot Crate have been producing special one-off themed crates for gamers to go giddy over, now they are looking to produce a themed edition that runs over several months. The Halo Legendary crate will be one of the first to trial this, running over 12 months. There are six different Legendary crates for Halo fans to get excited for – and what’s in them? Who knows… that’s the best part, it’s a surprise.

343 Industries have partnered with Loot Crate for the Halo Legendary Loot Crate, so the contents will no doubt be awesome and packed with figures, apparel, collectibles, in-game items and several surprises. The first crate spotlights the SPARTAN-IVs and includes an exclusive figure that will form the heart of this first crate – it will be shown off at RTX 2016 and streamed over on twitch on Friday, July 1.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II heading to Xbox One

Van Helsing II

A full two years after the PC release of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II, Neocore Games are to bring the title to the Xbox One platform.

The first title in the series was released under a year ago, with TiX reviewing and giving it a fair score of 6.9.

The Van Helsing titles are a hack and slash romp starring the Bram Stoker inspired character, Van Helsing, along with his spectre companion, Lady Katerina, as they try to defeat their arch-foe, General Harker. Travel the country of Borgovia and defeat the undead, monsters, and all manner of other horrors with steampunk-esque weapons and arcane skills.

This second installment will offer the player overhauled classes and new gameplay mechanics to make the hunt more complex as well as three playable classes. Mix up the action as a Hunter, Thaumaturge or Arcane Mechanic.

The Hunter’s Lair returns as the perfect place to hide your weapon stash and trade with NPCs. You’ll also be able to teleport between locations and utilise the alchemy lab while accepting quests from allies.

The Beast in the Lair is a unique artificially created creature. This Chimera is coming to aid Van Helsing straight from The Ink. You can summon it into combat or send it away to the Ink to delve for loot.

You’ll also be able to take advantage of the four player campaign co-op should you so wish, or try your skills against your friends in an eight player PVP mode.

From launch, two DLC packs will be released for the game. The Che Domovy Minipet DLC comes with a rare minipet, gear and a perk. The Expurgator Set DLC will grant you a full wardrode of unique and powerful set items. Each of these DLC are expected to cost around the $0.99 mark or equivalent.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II  will be coming to the Xbox One, digitally, from the 1st of July.

Feel the terror in Verdun

Whilst some folk are excited that Battlefield 1 will be coming to consoles, BlackMill Games have stolen a march on their more illustrious rivals with the announcement of the gritty and realistic Verdun.

Based on the Battle of Verdun, which took place in France in World War I, 1916, Verdun takes place over maps based on real war zones.

This squad-based game where players use a variety of historically accurate weapons, will see you traversing the often treacherous conditions of the French front line.

Utilising the first person mechanic, you’ll use your rifle, bayonet, toxic gas, machine guns and more to defeat the advancing enemy lines. The game will also offer the player multiple modes, including defence and attack. Other playable modes included will be, Rifle Deathmatch, Squad Defence and Attrition Mode.

Co-operating with friends can earn your squad Career Points, to unlock specialisations, weapons and kit.

Verdun will be heading over the top nearly two months before Battlefield 1 as well. Expect to get the rallying cry on the 30th of August.

Raise your morale with this message from the front line.
