No Mans Sky Next gets a new trailer ahead of July 24th release

I was one of the enthusiastic gamer’s who jumped on the original release of No Mans Sky, but who tailed off after a few weeks due to what I thought was an empty experience. However, Hello Games have continued to pour love into their development of the game and now we are on the cusp of the latest iteration of the space exploration game.

The No Mans Sky Next update will release on PS4 and will be free to all owners of the game. The Xbox One will get its debut release on the same day. The update includes the addition of multiplayer, improved graphics, and a third person mode. The new trailer shows off the multiplayer mode, with multiple explorers all on the same planet. No Mans Sky Next is now looking like the game we all wished for on its original release.

Hello Games have been quoted as saying “This is an incredibly important update for us, but it’s also just another step in a longer journey, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.”

Vigor Beta available to all Xbox Insiders

If you are part of the Xbox One Insider program then the beta for Bohemia Interactive’s new survival game ‘Vigor’ is available for you to download through the Insider App on your Xbox One. Vigor takes place in Scandinavia, and players take on the role of an outlander, engaging in unique encounters, seeking shelter, gaining resources, and building up in experience to be able to fight off other players.

Bohemia Interactive are known for their previous titles Arma and DayZ, and Vigor looks like an iteration of these titles. It is an Xbox One exclusive game, powered by Unreal Engine 4. Vigor is hide-and-seek with guns where you take risks to progress in a brutal and unforgiving world. As an Outlander in post-war Norway, you have to improve a dilapidated shelter and turn it into a home – a haven amidst a fallen civilization. This requires you to head out into a number of map-based encounters for 8-16 players to scavenge for supplies and gather resources.

Fornite season 5 has begun, find out what has changed

Fornite Season 5 has arrived and it the biggest update to the game so far.

You can drop in now and find all kinds of changes to the Battle Royale map. A Viking ship, desert outpost, ancient statues have appeared on the island, and Moisty Mire has been hit with a drought, bringing with it a brand new desert outpost.

Fortnite now has it’s first vehicle, hop in the zippy All Terrain Kart (ATK) with their squad and uncover all-new mysteries and locations.

Below is a small section of the patch notes:

  • When the “Invited to Party” prompt appears in the UI you can now immediately accept the invite rather than having to open the Party Finder.
  • The News widget has been adjusted to avoid the need for a scrollbar in most cases.
    • A scroll option has been added for controller users in the event that scrolling is needed.
  • Updated consoles to use less shader storage. This improves patch sizes and reduces load times.
  • Optimized file ordering to reduce load times on all platforms.
  • The “Epic Friends” button now appears on the Main Menu when using a gamepad on Windows or Mac.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that intermittently caused the Push-To-Talk setting to not function as intended.
  • Blocked players will no longer show as suggested friends.

The full list can be found on the Epic website.

Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars releases on July 17th

Ubisoft have announced that Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars, the second post-launch adventure, will release on July 17th 2018 on available platforms. Lost on Mars continues the uncanny adventures in the Far Cry 5 Season Pass as players travel to Mars to eradicate an alien threat. Lost on Mars can be purchased as a stand-alone DLC, as part of the season pass or the Gold Edition. Check out our review of Far Cry 5 here!

Lost on Mars transports the franchise’s insanity from Hope County to the red planet as Nick Rye is teleported to a hostile planet to help his buddy Hurk thwart an alien invasion of Earth. This adventure gives players a new arsenal of alien weaponry, including the Blaster of Disaster, Hellfire and Morphinator, while also introducing a new transversal tool with Space Jets. Humankind’s future is in the hands of the game’s most notorious guns-for-hire. Time to squash some bugs!

In addition, all Far Cry 5 players will have access to new Mars-themed assets in Far Cry Arcade, which is available now. Map builders will be able to integrate these assets into their existing maps or create new sci-fi-themed maps. Future content will also include thematic assets that will be added to Far Cry Arcade for free. Those who download the Lost on Mars DLC will also gain access to new weapons – Obliteratorrrr, Taser Phazer Annihilazer, Nerve Reaper, Grape Popper and Hellfire – to use as they liberate Hope County from the Project at Eden’s Gate.

Far Cry 5 post-launch will continue with a final DLC adventure – Dead Living Zombies – which will be released in August. An additional asset drop will give map builders more tools to create unique Far Cry Arcade experiences. The adventures are available in the season pass or as stand-alone DLC purchases, while new asset releases for Far Cry Arcade will be available for free to all players in future title updates.
