British publisher, Chilled Mouse have a small ace up their furry sleeve. They’ve teamed up with independant developer, Ste Curran, to bring puzzle game Chime Sharp to Xbox.
Chime Sharp will bring Tetris-style puzzle gameplay back to the Xbox and give it a musical twist. Traverse along a beatline that reads shapes as notes, through 16 levels, experimental modes and a melodic ambient soundtrack. Remix hypnotic electronic tracks from trailblazing experimental musical artists.
Featured in the game are CHVRCHES, Steve Reich, Kavinsky, Los, Message to Bears, Magic Sword and many more. Described as a crossover between a music sequencer and Tetris, Chime Sharp tasks players to place various shapes together in a race against the clock, while the passing beatline reads the blocks as notes and remixes the melodies in the tracks. The ultimate goal is to cover the whole playing grid by completing quads of 3×3 or more.
Chime Sharp will offer four unlockable game modes to pop another twist on the game mechanics. A life system, time limits, new shapes and new grid designs will all make for a challenging experience across the 16 game levels.
Chilled Mouse CEO, Ian Baverstock;
Console gamers are going to really enjoy Chime Sharp. Just like the original Chime, this one was destined for console with gameplay that really lends itself to controllers and sit-back play. To celebrate the console launch we have added in a 16th level, a bonus track from Canadian electronic musician CFCF.
Chime Sharp is heading to Xbox One and will see a release on Friday the 24th of February.
