Dontnod’s frankly fantastic episodic teen drama, Life is Strange could be in line for a second season, according to the game’s producer Luc Baghadoust.
Speaking to Polygon at E3, Luc suggested that it’s not a thought that’s been abandoned to the wilderness just yet.
We would love to have the opportunity to do another season. We’re working so hard to finish Episodes 4 and 5. It’s a lot of work. It’s a lot of stress. We have a limit of time to put out each episode. We want to stick to the 8-week release between each episode as much as we can.
Co-game director and art director, Michael Koch stressed that if the developer does go for a second season, it’s likely to star a new cast.
We can really go with other characters, other locations, but still keep the identity of the game, the themes of the game. We’re really liking working on an episodic format, I think it’s a strong way to create a strong story, to write the characters and to have good pacing and good control over the flow of the game. It can really pull the community together when the player can talk about the game together, making stories.
Koch concluded by keeping tight-lipped about Episode 4 of the current season.
..we are still working on Episode 4. We are soon to be finished. It should be ready quite soon.
I’m looking forward to that, too, when it happens.
