Daybreak Games are known for their MMORPG’s, EverQuest, PlanetSide and Landmark. They’ve been developing zombie survival shooter, H1Z1, and it has been in Steam Early Access for some time. The developer has noticed that the title has a natural two genre split so they’re taking the decision to split the game into two separate titles.
There will be the all-out spectacle of H1Z1: King of the Kill featuring multiple fight-to-the-death game modes, including Battle Royale.
Additionally, the title has spawned H1Z1: Just Survive, where you’ll be facing the prospect of not being eaten by ravening animated corpses. Crafting, base-building and scavenging will be the difference between life and death.
Jens Andersen, Executive Creative Director of Daybreak Games commented;
H1Z1: King of the Kill is all about the spectacle. All of the game modes will feature unique gameplay elements that invite prowess, chaos, glory and a little bit of ridiculousness all into one fight. The next game mode we introduce will make vehicles an important part of the exhibition, adding another layer of energy and turbulence to the mix as players have to move rapidly to different areas of the map in order to stay alive. H1Z1: Just Survive development will remain focused on creating an open-world survival experience. We are working on a world that’s immersive, that captures the mindset of the last remaining humans trying to survive a post-apocalyptic zombie-filled wasteland. What does it feel like to be forced to scavenge for resources, to have to construct shelters to live, to aid or hinder the last remnants of human civilisation?
Both titles will have their own development team and Daybreak will be bringing both to Xbox One. H1Z1: King of the Kill will be coming this summer, with more details still to come on the console release of H1Z1: Just Survive.
If you’ve already bought the original title on Steam Early Access, you’ll still get both titles when they’re released, which is excellent.
Keep it TiX for more on H1Z1 when it’s released.
