Destiny stops solo runs on Weekly Heroic

Further to our post earlier in the week more news has come out in the latest Bungie Weekly Update about the next major patch in Destiny. The development team has decided to turn the matchmaking back on for the Weekly Heroic Strikes, but why?

M.E Chung (Design Lead) at Bungie stated ” We wanted the Weekly Heroics to be a challenge that pushed you and your buddies, but what we observed was that these strikes don’t demand the same cooperation of a cohesive pre-made group. The overwhelming community response was such that many players didn’t have the numbers on their friends list to experience the activity on a weekly basis”.

As for the Weekly NightFall and the Raids, they are staying the same for time being. Even though there is high demand for matchmaking to be added Chung replied¬† “higher level missions relied upon pre-arranged groups of communicative players to be successful so there will be no further changes for the moment”.

With the patch still expected to launch before the end of February, March could be a very interesting time for new and old players of Destiny. What do you think?
