EA’s new studio based in Sweden,EA Gothenburg has dropped the bombshell that they are set to develop a new Need for Speed game using the FrostBite 2 engine as part of their drive in developing a “new generation of games” in the coming years ahead.
The Studio was formed on the initiative of Patrick Söderlund, EVP of EA’s Games Label, who appointed former DICE Executive Producer Marcus Nilsson to build and run the studio. Marcus has led development on a number of AAA games including Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, Battlefield 2142 and most recently Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed. The vacancy advertisement for the new generation of Need for Speed games is as follows:
Would you like to be a part of EA? Would you like to work on a game in the Need for Speed franchise? You now have the opportunity to become a part of EA Gothenburg and fulfill those two wishes! We are hiring, and we are hiring a lot!
Current openings are for Art Director’s, Creative and Development Directors, Lead Artists and many other technical roles associated with design and engineering. Whilst no official title or console has been announced for this development, you can likely expect something massive in time for E3 2013 next June…
…what a wait!
