EA Kills Off Medal of Honor Based On Low Scores

Xbox 360

EA’s Chief Operating Officer, Peter Moore, has stated in the latest Investor Call that Medal of Honor is to be “taken out of rotation”. In basic terms it means that the game did pretty crap and having played this bland generic shooter – I hail this as a hallelujah to the first-person-shooter genre.

“We struggled with two challenges: the slowdown that impacted the entire sector and poor critical and commercial reception for Medal of Honor Warfighter,” said Moore. “Medal of Honor was an obvious miss. The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers.

“Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved,” he added.

“This one is behind us now. We are taking Medal of Honor out of the rotation, and have a plan to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings,” he said.

Let’s hope more time is spent on reviving Battlefield Bad Company! With next-gen gaming all-but-round-the-corner, we’ll bring the news of EA’s next shooter as it drops.
