EA provides New Hope with details of Star Wars Battlefront 2

E3 News Xbox One Xbox One S

At the EA Play conference as part of E3 2017, details have been announced of Star Wars Battlefront 2. Presented by lead character actress, Janina Gavankar, who plays the role of Iden Versio, she stated that Battlefront 2 will have 3 times the content of the original game. Star Wars Battlefront II will release on November 17th 2017.  There was also a new trailer which you can watch below!

So, what have we found out from the conference. To start with EA did not go into much detail of the single player campaign, which focuses on the aforementioned Iden Versio, a member of the galactic empire, and the game starts as Return of the Jedi ends. Instead they focussed on the multiplayer, showing the Assault on Theed map, which is set in Naboo, from the prequel movies.

All DLC will be free, and will be released as seasons, with the first being The Last Jedi and will feature Finn and Captain Phasma and will be released in December 2017.  Heroes already confirmed are Darth Maul, Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Rey, Kylo Ren, Boba Fett and Han Solo.  The multiplayer gameplay featured these characters, along with Stormtroopers, Shock Troopers and even the Battle Droids from The Phantom Menace.

“With Star Wars Battlefront II, we’ve really taken feedback from our players to heart, and you see that in the base game, which has so much more content than the first game – a new authentic single player campaign, epic multiplayer, starfighter battles, and solo or co-op PvE on console – a huge game across all eras of the Star Wars films,” says Matt Webster, Executive Producer on Star Wars Battlefront II. “But just as important is how we support the game after launch. Our live service is built around the philosophy of keeping our fans playing together, with seasons that will add meaningful content and in game events on a regular basis.”

Star Wars Battlefront 2 does appear to be the game that Battlefront 1 should have been, covering all eras of the Star Wars movies, and will appeal to any fan of the series.
