EA Splashing Out 80 Million Dollars On Next-Gen Games In 2013

Electronic Arts has confirmed via a recent Q4 Results financial filing, that in 2013 they are prepared to spend up to $80,000,000.00 on the development of next-gen games.

Although the titles of the games have not been announced, it’s a safe bet that Battlefield 4 will be one of them, and of course the yearly EA Sports franchises.

“In the coming year, we break away from the pack,” said Chief Executive Officer John Riccitiello. “With a very different profile than the traditional game companies and capabilities that none of our new digital competitors can match.”

Neither Microsoft or Sony has confirmed the release dates for next-gen systems – but with EA putting a hefty chunk of cash aside for 2013. We’ll take it that new consoles are to be released next year after all…

…thanks EA.
