Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb has announced the ‘Games with Gold’ titles for both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 for July.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will debut on Xbox One as a free download, replacing June’s Xbox One Games with Gold title Halo: Spartan Assault (so be sure to grab it now if you haven’t already). Max: The Curse of Brotherhood will remain available for Xbox Live Gold members to download for Xbox One.

On Xbox 360, starting Tuesday, July 1st, Gotham City Imposters (normally US $14.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through July 15th.

Then on July 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download two titles, BattleBlock Theater (normally US $14.99) for free through July 31st.

*Titles are available as free downloads for qualifying Xbox Live Gold members in all markets where Xbox Live is available. Some regions may offer different titles depending on market availability.

WRONG..these are fun games. GCI I already have. Its a fast paced, fun shooter and a blast to play. BBT I haven’t played myself but know people that have and heard it’s good. As for the X1 game Guacamelee…it was something I was going to buy so now it’s free….my favorite price!!!

Guacamelee is extremely fun. I’m glad Microsoft is finally giving us a good, new game.

  • They don’t have of a choice at present – they don’t many games released for X1 so to give full AAA titles away for free is unrealistic. Happy to try another free arcade game for now.

  • I think in the long term it will end up being a load of shit Arcade games from ID@Xbox that retail for less than £4 anyway!!
