Warner Bros. has today released the demo for their upcoming spell-binding Harry Potter game for Kinect on Xbox LIVE. The Kinect sensor allows each player to scan in their own face to create a unique witch or wizard to study at Hogwarts and journey through the adventures of the film series.
Based on all eight Harry Potter films, Harry Potter for Kinect allows players to join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as they embark on an unforgettable journey through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and beyond. Set in the wizarding world, Harry Potter for Kinect lets kids and parents use the simple Kinect body and voice controls to cast spells, interact with professors and students, play Quidditch, battle Death Eaters and more. Players who master their magical skills can take on their opponents in competitive mini-games, or join forces with family and friends in co-op gameplay.
The downloadable demo contains a sample of three mini-games: Quidditch Match –Seeker, in which players must control a flying broomstick as they attempt to dodge opponents and catch the Golden Snitch during a Quidditch match; Journey to the Lestrange Vault, where players must navigate a cart through the dark and dangerous underground caverns of Gringotts bank to reach the vault that houses the Lestrange fortune; and Destroy the Bridge, in which the player must battle Death Eaters while trying to make their way safely across the exploding Hogwarts bridge.
Harry Potter for Kinect is available October 12th exclusively for Xbox 360
