It was going to happen sooner or later, considering Modern Warfare 3 (except for content drops) is all tied up! Whilst a next-gen Call of Duty game has not been officially confirmed, it appears that thanks to Infinity Ward’s own internal job vacancy postings they require staff to help develop a next gen game – which can only be – the one and only Call of Duty.
The Job description for a Senior Animator, with an interest in working with next-generation technologies is as follows from Gamasutra:
- Create high quality realistic key-framed and motion capture animations, demonstrating a strong sense of posing, timing, and weight
- Work closely with the Lead Animator and animation team to establish character motion and personality
- Accept direction and cooperate with the team to meet production deadlines
With Treyarch already hard at work pushing out this years iteration of the franchise that will more than likely be announced around May time (based on past history), Infinity Ward are clearly gearing up for a next gen release when their game should hit stores in the Fall of 2013. Will it be Modern Warfare 4, the long rumoured prequel or a complete franchise reboot?
Time will only tell, but the wait is going to be an excruciating 12 months or more before we find out.
