If there’s one thing that the great British public are good at, it’s poking fun at themselves. Her Majesty’s SPIFFING by BillyGoat Entertainment takes this to new levels of Monty Python-meets-Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy daft.
Based in Belfast, BillyGoat Entertainment are looking to rekindle the graphic adventure games of old with Her Majesty’s SPIFFING. Set in a futuristic post-Brexit Britain, Her Majesty, The Queen has become disillusioned with the Government in Westminster and decides that they are no longer fit to govern the United Kingdom.
Taking the decision to dissolve parliament and taking the country back to being an autocratic nation, improvements are wide ranging and immediate. Not satisfied with this, and given the problems that Britain faces returning to a position of power on the Earth, the Queen focuses her attention on the stars.
Assuming command of the near-futuristic spacecraft, the HMSS Imperialise, Her Majesty will blast off in to space. You will assume the role of the ship’s crew, Captain Frank Lee English and his Welsh colleague, Aled Jones.
As these two, you will venture into the cosmos, solve puzzles, engage in witty banter, deal with crippling claustrophobia and gradually succumb to the effects of sustained exposure to cosmic radiation. You also may encounter other folk venturing about the cosmos with their own intergalactic aspirations.
Her Majesty’s SPIFFING will feature a very amusing story with characters who have excellent diction and beautifully rendered stylised 3D graphics. It will also offer challenging, satisfying puzzles with modern intuitive controls. SPIFFING will also serve as an excellent cultural introduction to the art of drinking tea and remaining calm in the most challenging of situations.
So, here’s to drinking tea while discussing the weather. Here’s to facing challenges with a stiff upper lip. Here’s to sporting impeccable manners whilst undermining the French. Here’s to puffing one’s chest out at the merest mention of Blighty and the good old days.
Her Majesty’s SPIFFING should be released on Xbox One on the 7th of December. Time for tea?
