In 2010, Microsoft formed the relatively small internal studio named: Microsoft Game Studios Vancouver and earlier this year downsized the team, as well as cancelling projects the studio was working on. Initial speculation was that amidst the changes the studio might have been closed down, but like a phoenix rising from the ashes – Black Tusk Studio’s is born from what is left of the Microsoft Game Studios Vancouver team with an exciting future ahead.
It’s safe to speculate that with a new name, a new project is in the works backed up by the studio looking to hire a User Research Engineer. The new role is to help ensure Black Tusk Studio’s development partners receive best-in-class service and evolve and adapt to the methodologies in sports and interactive entertainment, and AAAA video games.
As part of the Microsoft Studios family, Black Tusk will be able to leverage resources, technology, and experience from other first-party studios such as 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, Rare Ltd., Lionhead Studios, Good Science Studio, and Twisted Pixel Games.
When game titles, announcements or anything relating to the new studio has been announced – we’ll keep you updated.
