The Halo 4: Crimson Map Pack has been available to download for a week now and gamer’s are reporting that they are getting banned from the matchmaking element of Halo 4 – a cause believed to be linked to the Crimson Map Pack.
There was some brief confusion over the Crimson Map Pack launch which led some players to believe they had obtained the DLC pack for free when it was later discovered to be on a trial basis only. Microsoft had not been all that clear about certain promotions which allowed the Crimson Map Pack to be trialed, but the latest wave of Halo 4 bans is not linked to obtaining the maps as a free download:
A moderator for 343 Industries quoted:
“We are not permanently banning players for previewing or purchasing the Crimson Map Pack. We are currently investigating the recent reports of permanent matchmaking bans.
“We will provide further updates tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.”
