Microsoft is looking to the future of next-gen gaming and is openly looking to recruit members of the OnLive team who lost their jobs following the company’s recent restructure. Around half of all OnLive employees lost their employment, but it is not known how many Microsoft are looking to take on themselves.
A recruitment event dubbed the “Mixer” will be held at the Microsoft Corporation offices in Silicon Valley with its hiring managers in attendance.
Quoted by Microsoft’s Invitation:
“We are eager to speak to individuals and teams affected by the OnLive transition,” reads the event invitation. “We are looking to add key players who want to make a real impact in creating groundbreaking new products and services.”
The news has naturally sparked rumours that next-gen gaming could feature streaming services similar to OnLive, but Microsoft has not made any official announcements about their plans. The “Mixer” will take place this Tuesday on August 27th 2012.
