E3 Microsoft Conference – Xbox Elite wireless controller

Microsoft have just announced the Xbox Elite Wireless controller. Think an Xbox Pro gaming pad from the likes of MLG and SCUF, but officially made by the team at Microsoft. From the brief glimpse we saw, the controller comes with custom flipper triggers underneath it, rapid-fire and hair-trigger locks, precision thumbsticks and fully customisable buttons.

This is a serious piece of kit for serious gamers.

E3 Microsoft Conference – EA Access updates

Peter Moore stepped up on stage to announce that EA Access would be giving fans early access to Madden 16 this August. Not only that, as reported by TiX earlier, Titanfall will be joining the vault too. He then went on to confirm that later this year Dragon Age: Inquisition would also be available on EA Access.

To celebrate this excellent news, Moore revealed that EA Access would be free for all Xbox Live users this weekend.

E3 Microsoft Conference – round-up

Well…what an evening it’s been so far!

Bonnie Ross from 343 Industries opened the show and wastes no time in letting the crowd know about the fact that there are plenty of awesome games coming to the Xbox One in 2015, taking a shot at Playstation saying that Xbox have the best exclusive games THIS year!

Before we know it, Halo 5: Guardians gameplay is shown off, and it looks fantastic. Josh Holmes, Executive Producer then came on to talk about seamless co-op and introduces Warzone. Hopefully we’ll see more info about that soon, but here is a cool trailer to check out:

Next up, a World Premiere of ReCore, a first party title from the legendary creator Keiji Inafune and the makers of Metroid Prime. As one of the last remaining humans, forge friendships with courageous robot companions and lead them on an epic adventure through a mysterious, dynamic world.

Then came some news that many have been waiting for since the Xbox One was first announced… Backwards Compatability. Even better news is that it’s available to Xbox Live Preview Members right now. Here is a list of games available.

Next Phil Spencer announced a new Elite Xbox One Controller that allows you to swap out features, change the analog sticks, bumpers and D-pad as you wish. There are also hair-trigger locks and the D-pad has been replaced by a textured rolling pad.

Todd Howard then came on stage to give us a good look at Fallout 4. After gameplay footage was shown it was revealed that PC Mods would be usable within the game on Xbox One.

Next up Peter Moore took to the stage and spoke about how successful EA Access has been and followed up by confirming that the next title to join the vault would be Titanfall, followed by Dragon Age Inquisition later this year. Then it was time for some zombies with the world premiere trailer for Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

Forza 6 then took centre stage, quite literally at one point. It’s looking really impressive, but will it overshadow Project CARS?

Ubisoft then joined in by showing us a brand new trailer for The Division before telling us that the Xbox will get an exclusive Beta later this year. Rainbow 6 Seige also got some time in before we were told that the Xbox 360 Vegas titles would come free with the game to play as backwards compatible titles!

A new cartoony title was shown off that would also play on Windows 10 called Gigantic, before a whole host of great looking ID@Xbox titles were shown off.

Xbox Game Preview was then revealed, it’s a new early access system that allows you to try out a game for free and then pay to be involved if you like the look of what you see. Elite Dangerous and Day Z are two of the first games involved.

Rise of the Tomb Raider then got its time to shine, this is one title I really can not wait for, and the trailer shown was pretty epic.

Rare have been up to something for a while and tonight we finally got details of what they something was, Rare Replay, a mega pack of 30 games such as Perfect Dark, Battletoads, Conkers and more. They also went onto reveal Sea of Thieves, a pirate based adventure.

Hololens made an appearance for the first time too, showing how it could be used with Minecraft, it was certainly interesting, but whether it will take off is another matter.

Last but not least, Gears of War Ultimate Edition was revealed. The original game remastered for Xbox One and releasing on August 25. The multiplayer is getting a public beta today. In fact, you should already have a code in your Xbox One messages. Gears of War 4 was then shown off, the game is due to be released at the end of 2016.

And that was it! Microsoft really went to town and impressed a lot of people, we would love to hear your thoughts!

Titanfall coming to EA Access

Titanfall_Militia_Atlas

We all like a nice bit of speculation and gossip and the latest rumour going around is that Titanfall will be joining the already extensive list of free to play games in the EA Access vault.

Well I can confirm that this indeed does look like the case, as even though it’s not appearing in the Vault if you search for it via the game store you can download and play it for free. Also you are no longer required to have the disc in your console if you wish to play, again confirming that the license key is now part of the free games in the vault.

This is great news for EA Access owners that don’t yet have this game as with the season pass becoming free to celebrate the games anniversary all the DLC for this great game is also yours to have for nothing.

EA are yet to comment but it looks like one of the announcements EA was going to make at E3 is already out of the bag.

EA Access is the exclusive subscription service where you receive discounts on EA games, but also have access to the vault, a selection of the best EA games that are free to play and download. Membership will also grant you early access to upcoming titles, such as the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront.
