Polychromatic inbound for Xbox One

Polychromatic

Independent game developer Brushfire Games announces Polychromatic, a physics-based arcade shooter with a pop of color coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 in summer 2015 via ID@Xbox.

Polychromatic is an original two-stick shooter that blends modern aesthetics with classic design. The wave based progression and increasingly difficult number of enemies keep the game grounded in the genre’s roots while the dynamic physics and flat geometric art style push it in a fresh, new direction.

We really wanted to make a game that could capture the feeling of the classic arcade shooters without just being the ‘Same Old Thing. For example, the physics driven gameplay is quite unique and adds a level of unpredictability to the game. While other games in this genre emphasize memorization, Polychromatic requires adaptation and quick reaction to succeed.

Competition between friends is a huge part of these games so we’ve also tried to build that directly into the game with friend leaderboards and target scores. When you finish a game you can easily see the scores you passed and those you can try to beat next. This creates a friendly and engaging way for gamers to show who’s best.

Polychromatic features three game modes, competitive leaderboards, and a number of achievements to unlock. Polychromatic is set to be released this summer.
