Puzzler Q.U.B.E. 2 launches March 13

Almost two years ago an intriguing puzzle game launched onto Xbox One, QUBE, which I scored 80% in my review, is finally getting a sequel that is due to launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on March 13.

Priced at £19.99/€24.99/$24.99, the sequel features a new cast of characters with you assuming the role of archaeologist Amelia Cross.

“With Q.U.B.E. 2, we have pushed the boundaries of what a small independent team can create in a first person puzzle game,” said Dan Da Rocha, Managing Director at Toxic Games. “In addition to creating incredible new puzzles, we also focused on narrative from this game’s inception. Amelia’s emotional journey throughout the adventure has given the puzzles a greater thematic depth and spurred us on to design some truly unique challenges. We think this has truly elevated the gameplay experience of Q.U.B.E. 2 to another level.”

With the main mechanic of the game centred around the manipulation of objects via special gloves, surely this would have made a great fit for VR – when I published the review of the first game, a reader question whether the game should have had Kinect support.
