Rockfish Games set to give us Everspace

everspace

The phrase “rogue-like”. It’s a little over-used in gaming sometimes I think. Take Everspace. Rockfish Games have monikered this, rogue-like. I’m not 100% convinced, but, hey, what’s a description between friends?

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the most funded Kickstarter from Germany after raising more than US$ 500,000, Hamburg-based Rockfish have confirmed that their space-combat title, Everspace, will be coming to Xbox One and Windows 10.

They are aiming currently for a 4th quarter 2016 release. They are also hoping that the first build on the Xbox One will be showcased at GDC in San Francisco in March 2016 and since the pre-alpha already runs well on the average PC, the aim is for the Xbox One version to provide a as smooth an experience with full-HD resolution.

Michael Schade, CEO of Rockfish Games is clearly as excited as he could be.

We are very excited to work with the ID@Xbox team to bring Everspace to Xbox One and Windows 10. We believe Everspace will be a great space shooter also for consoles thanks to it’s arcade style with easy-to-pick-up gameplay and it’s intuitive controls. Of course, this is good news for all VR players as the PC version will feature full gamepad support as well now.

Have a look at the Xbox One pre-apha footage below. It’s already looking impressive and it’s aiming to launch in late 2016.
