Sequel to Hit PC Game, Sanctum 2 Dated for May 15 on XBLA

If you can remember as far back as February, we posted that Reverb were set to publish Sanctum 2, the sequel to the incredibly popular PC game to the Xbox LIVE Arcade. Developers’ Coffee Stain Studios announced today that Sanctum 2 has been dated for May 15th, 2013 simultaneously for Xbox Live and PC – with a PS3 version set to drop shortly after.

A Steam pre-order program launched today for the highly-anticipated sequel that seamlessly blends the best elements of the tower-defense and first-person shooter genres. Fans can now pre-order the game on Steam to secure bonus content including the exclusive Britech CG Elite Edition DLC Skin Pack and obtain immediate access to a free copy of Super Sanctum TD.

Sanctum is a fresh take on the tower defense genre and places the player right into the frenetic fray with tight first-person shooter gameplay mechanics. Gamers take the role of Skye, an elite soldier sent out to protect her home town, Elysion One, from hordes of mysterious alien creatures. To successfully defend your land, you must construct and upgrade a labyrinth of defensive structures and towers. When the havoc starts and the wave of baddies is unleashed, you jump right into the action with your own fully-upgradeable weapons and play a key role in the defense. Sanctum has taken the best features from FPSs and tower defense games to create something totally unique, and Sanctum 2 will only build on and improve that experience.
