Base building, rescuing and recruiting fellow survivors, stealth and zombie slaying, this sounds like my perfect game… oh wait it is! State of Decay will be released in June on XBLA (and PC).
The end is here. Human civilization has been annihilated. The few, scattered survivors must band together, rebuilding civilization in a third- person action game packed with sweet guns, fast cars, hand-to-hand combat, and copious amounts of zombie gore. Players choose where to make their stand, designing and fortifying their settlements, performing daring raids for valuable stores of food and ammunition, and rescuing other playable survivors. The open world develops in real-time, shaped by player actions, with content determined by their choices and the ever-increasing zombie threat.
It’s survival horror, RPG, FPS and a whole bunch more mixed together. If you don’t know much about the title then listen up. It’s being developed by Undead Labs, founded by Jeff Strain. Strain was the lead programmer on World of Warcraft, so initially it is probably safe to assume State of Decay was supposed to be an MMO.
Having partnered with Microsoft Studios, don’t expect to see it on PS3 anytime soon.
I’m extremely excited to get my hands on this game. If you want to learn more then head over to http://undeadlabs.com/about-state-of-decay/ and read all about it. Oh and here is a trailer too…
