Mutant aliens. It’s bad enough that they go around abducting folk, doing all kinds of odd experiments on them but now it would seem like they’ve gone all super on us. It’s time for an all out assault.
Developer Cybernate, along with publisher Surprise Attack Games have today announced a brutally random arcade platformer that will be hitting the Xbox One this summer.
Super Mutant Alien Assault takes inspiration from arcade classics and Vlambeer’s Super Crate box. It will be an unforgiving dance with death across randomised single-screen levels. It’s frantic dodging action is just as important as making the aliens eat hot lasers as you try to survive.
But, wait. Why be selfish and shoot all the alien bad guys yourself? Super Mutant Alien Assault will feature a local co-op for that fresh, just vaporised smell.
That’s not all though. There will be a near bottomless pit of weapons, explosives, sidearms, special abilities, perks and defence moves. Each single-screen level is a randomised combination of layout, vending machines, objectives and enemies. The weapon drops are totally random and you’ll never know what you’re going to get.
The more you unlock, the more mind-boggling, or frustrating, the drops are going to be.
All of this adrenaline-fueled shooting action will be accompanied by a pounding dubstep soundtrack.
Don’t take my word for it, see what delights the announcement trailer has below, or head on over to the game’s website, here.
