Master Chief has made his way back onto the Xbox in an epic 4-player cooperative story, play online in new multiplayer modes Warzone, a massive 24-player battle with capture points, vehicles, big guns and mayhem, and fight for supremacy in Arena, a core 4-vs-4 competitive combat setting where team play is everything.
Halo 5 Guardians is out now on the Xbox One store for $59.99 or get the Digital Deluxe Version for $89.99. Halo 5 also has some multiplayer specific DLC in the form of Requisition packs, which is where you unlock and change everything for your character from armor, stances and visors to weapon skins and vehicles in related modes.
It’s not looking good for the Master Chief. The people of earth have been shown footage of his death, but this is just a cover story to protect the hero’s legacy – supposedly rogue – Agent Locke has been sent to take him down.
These TV spots are really setting the bar high for my expectations for Halo 5’s story – it sounds like it will twist and turn, playing with your perception and emotions around Locke and Master Chief.
According to this live action report, the Master Chief has fallen in combat and died, and although there will be no special ceremony, the people of earth are being urged to strive forward together to continue the fight.

Led by John-117, or as many will know him, Master Chief, 343 Industries have unveiled the opening cinematic to Halo 5’s Spartan-II Blue Team as they board an derelict Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) research facility that has been overrun by a renegade faction of Covenant zealots.
Halo 5 features a new REQ pack system that sounds a little similar to Titanfall’s Burn cards – they are of course so much more than that and Mister Chief is on-hand to expand on the finer points of REQing up.
Arriving October 20th is this amazing Halo 5 limited edition 1TB console, an inspirational looking limited edition based around the character’s design and the items from around the Halo universe, the Master Chief inspired controller will be sold separately in October.
This console will come with a download card to pre-load Halo 5 but it will not allow you to actually play until it releases on the 27th, the Halo 5 1TB console is available to pre-order now.
Halo has a captivating story but when a few friends are online, then multiplayer is the agenda to wreak havoc however you see fit, the series returns with new multiplayer modes Warzone, which is a huge 24 player battle with vehicles enabled and the main focus of Halo 5 for Esports, Arena is pure 4v4 combat and also mixes things up with slayer and other objective based game types.
Now you can enjoy all your favourite Halo programs on the move – the Halo Channel is available on iOS and Android – but before you jump for joy too much, it’s worth noting that some shows aren’t available! I’m looking at you Halo Nightfall – even though it states on the website that you can view it – doing so gives you the message that the content is only available via the Halo Channel on Xbox One or Windows.
You can however view a ton of additional content that does work via the smartphone app, and the app UI is pretty damn slick too – well played 343i.

The #HUNTtheTRUTH is beginning to heat up with the key art being revealed for Halo 5. The art will become the cover of the game, has an animated poster and most importantly shows two Spartan fire teams, presumably team Locke vs. team Chief.
Who are these Spartans? This and many more mysteries will be uncovered as we draw closer to the world premiere of Halo 5: Guardians at E3 2015.
343 Industries have updated their support post about their continual efforts to eradicate all bugs from the troubled Master Chief Collection. The next update, which includes UI optimisation and updates to a “variety of other areas”, will be available sometime next week – keep an eye out on their post for further details on when the update becomes available and what it contains.
There will be an update to MCC this Thursday that brings new achievements for multiplayer and Spartan Ops. Don’t forget owners of the edition can also get access to the Halo 5 multiplayer beta through the main menu of the game.
