Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag DLC dated

Freedom Cry Featured Image

That’s right, come December 17th (a day earlier than PS3 & PS4), both Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners will be able to return to the Caribbean in Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag. Freedom Cry is a self contained story featuring Adewale; Edward Kenway’s first mate spread across nice different missions.

Freedom Cry is set 15 years after the events of Black Flag and finds Adewale shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapons or crew, starting a new adventure of his own. Oh I forgot to mention… he’s also now a fully trained member of the Assassins order.

Assassin’s Creed IV – Actors of Black Flag Video

The video above is another to showcase the amazing efforts plunged into Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag where Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established their own lawless Republic where corruption, greediness and cruelty are commonplace.

Among these outlaws is a brash young captain named Edward Kenway. His fight for glory has earned him the respect of legends like Blackbeard, but also drawn him into the ancient war between Assassins and Templars, a war that may destroy everything the pirates have built.

Welcome to the Golden Age of Piracy… AC4: Black Flag is due for release on Xbox 360 and Xbox One this Fall.

Assassin’s Creed Franchise “Eventual Ending” Ideas Are In Place

Assassin’s Creed will one day come to its eventual end, and how that might just happen has already been in the planning stages. In a conversation with Eurogamer, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Director Ashraf Ismail, explained the franchise’s bosses have a rough idea of how they wanted the series to finish.

“We have multiple development teams, then we have the brand team that sits on top and is filled with writers and designers concerned with the series’ overall arc,” Ismail explained. “So there is an overall arc, and each iteration has its place inside this.

“We have an idea of where the end is, what the end is. But of course Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft’s overall boss] announced we are a yearly title, we ship one game a year. So depending on the setting, depending on what fans want, we’ve given ourselves room to fit more in this arc. But there is an end.

We already know a few details about Assassin’s Creed 5 – or whatever 2014’s AC entry will be called. One of the primary studios working on it is Splinter Cell: Blacklist developer Ubisoft Toronto, which is headed up by one of the series’ original co-creators, Jade Raymond.

Check out the full details with EuroGamer.
