The video above is another to showcase the amazing efforts plunged into Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag where Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established their own lawless Republic where corruption, greediness and cruelty are commonplace.
Among these outlaws is a brash young captain named Edward Kenway. His fight for glory has earned him the respect of legends like Blackbeard, but also drawn him into the ancient war between Assassins and Templars, a war that may destroy everything the pirates have built.
Welcome to the Golden Age of Piracy… AC4: Black Flag is due for release on Xbox 360 and Xbox One this Fall.
In the cruel world of pirates, men fight for their dreams.
But few achieve their goals,
Others will drown into darkness.
Thin is the line between chaos and freedom.
And the sea can either be your throne, or your tomb.
The choice is yours.
Assassin’s Creed will one day come to its eventual end, and how that might just happen has already been in the planning stages. In a conversation with Eurogamer, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Director Ashraf Ismail, explained the franchise’s bosses have a rough idea of how they wanted the series to finish.
“We have multiple development teams, then we have the brand team that sits on top and is filled with writers and designers concerned with the series’ overall arc,” Ismail explained. “So there is an overall arc, and each iteration has its place inside this.
“We have an idea of where the end is, what the end is. But of course Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft’s overall boss] announced we are a yearly title, we ship one game a year. So depending on the setting, depending on what fans want, we’ve given ourselves room to fit more in this arc. But there is an end.”
We already know a few details about Assassin’s Creed 5 – or whatever 2014’s AC entry will be called. One of the primary studios working on it is Splinter Cell: Blacklist developer Ubisoft Toronto, which is headed up by one of the series’ original co-creators, Jade Raymond.
Game Director Ashraf Ismail takes us deeper into the world of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag with this new commented gameplay video. Embark on a journey with Edward and discover his daily life as a pirate and Assassin in this Open-World demo, in a quest for glory, fame and hidden treasures.
