Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy coming to Xbox One

In one of the worst kept secrets ever, after this was rumoured MONTHS ago, it has finally been confirmed that Crash Bandicoot is coming to Xbox, PC and the Nintendo Switch. The release date for all three platforms has been announced as July 10th.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision. It is a collection of remasters of the first three titles in the Crash Bandicoot series: Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped, which were originally developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation in the 1990s. The game was first released for PlayStation 4 on June 30, 2017.

All feature Crash Bandicoot traversing various levels in order to stop Doctor Neo Cortex from taking over the world. Like in the original games, Crash uses spinning and jumping techniques to defeat enemies, smash crates, and collect items such as Wumpa Fruits, extra lives, and protective Aku Aku masks. The trilogy adds new features across all three games, including unified checkpoints, pause menus and save systems, including both manual and automatic saving, time trials, which were first introduced in Warped, and the ability to play most levels in each game as Crash’s sister Coco. It also features remastered audio and cutscenes, including new recordings of the games’ dialogue given by the franchise’s more recent voice actors

Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 releasing on October 12th 2018

Activision have officially announced that this years annual Call Of Duty release will be Black Ops 4, and will be releasing earlier than the franchise usually does, with a release date of October 12th 2018. There is also another date for your diary, with May 17th 2018 booked in for the Community Reveal.

Usually, the Call Of Duty series releases around the start of November, but moving to October 12th clearly is designed to stay away from the 26th October release of Red Dead Redemption 2. Getting in two weeks earlier is clearly thought to be more beneficial than following Rockstar’s behemoth.

It has been thought that this years CoD, developed by Treyarch would see a return to the Black Ops series, especially after NBA superstar James Harden was seen wearing a baseball cap which had a very similar logo to the Black Ops 3 logo, but with four ‘I’s instead of three. This design is now quite obviously the Black Ops 4 logo, fuelling speculation that Activision have brought forward the announcement in response to that leak.

The internet is also having lots of fun with Activision’s choice not to go with the standard roman numeral for four ‘IV’, instead going with ‘IIII’.

Call of Duty WWII multiplayer beta content confirmed

Activision have confirmed what will be included in the Call of Duty WWII beta, which kicks off this weekend on PS4, with Xbox One owners able to join the fight the following weekend.

“We love the active dialog we have with the Call of Duty community, and value the exchange of ideas and constructive feedback we have with fans. Your feedback will help us finalize features, optimize gameplay balance, and refine the remaining development roadmap to launch. So please explore, rank up, and have fun. Share as much feedback as you can – everything helps. The development team will be playing non-stop, and we’ll be monitoring performance and collecting valuable data around the clock.”

There will be three maps in the beta – Ardennes Forest, Gibraltar and Pointe du Hoc – which you can preview in the below trailers.

Players who have managed to get a code by pre-ordering or winning a code will be able to play through Call of Duty’s new War mode where the Allies clash with the Axis forces to fight over attack and defend objectives – when it’s written like that it sounds and awfully lot like Battlefield doesn’t it?

Other modes included in the beta include Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint.

Only time will tell whether WWII is a return to the form of Modern Warfare or play more like something that EA and DICE would publish, while this weekend is a beta, many will judge the final product on what they experience – bugs and all.

Call of Duty WWII private beta kicks off this week

The Call of Duty: WWII private beta kicks off this weekend on PS4, with Xbox One joining the battle the following weekend. Activision will be deploying the keys required to download the game ‘closer to the beta launch’, but just how do you ensure that you get one?

It’s pretty simple really… pre-order the game.

I’m sure the usual suspects on twitter will also be on hand to give out bonus codes and you can count on the villainy of eBay who are looking to make a quick buck by flogging codes, but the easiest way is just to order a copy of the game — if you’re reading this — we both know you will end up buying one anyway.

The beta kicks off at 10am PST August 25 for PS4, ending at 10am PST August 28. The following weekend both PS4 and Xbox One can take part in the beta, which starts at 10am PST September 1 and ends at 10am PST September 4.

Digital pre-orders won’t require a code for the beta, once available, the beta can be directly downloaded from the store, although pre-loading hasn’t yet been confirmed. If you ordered through your favourite retailer, then your code should land in your email sometime this week.

Destiny 2 officially revealed

Rumours about Destiny 2 being imminently revealed have been floating around for about a week now, and with Activision confirming the sequel would be hitting shelves this year back in February in their Fourth Quarter 2016 results, it’s no surprise to finally see something official.

Destiny 2 was announced a couple of hours ago (at time of writing) with a rather unceremoniously posted image on the official Destiny Twitter.

Details on the sequel unfortunately end there, but E3 is fast approaching so we won’t have long to wait until we find out what’s next for the FPS MMO.

Call of Duty: WWII leaked images

Yesterday a Reddit user posted several images supposedly from the next, yet to be announced, Call of Duty title. These images reveal the name of Activision’s new CoD, Call of Duty: WWII, as well revealing the setting as indeed World War II.

[Leak] Call of Duty: WWII – /r/WWII – TheFamilyVideoGamers

We’re not entirely convinced of the legitimacy of these images just yet. The poster claims to be the one behind similar leaks last year which were later proved true, but the live action shots and simplistic name seems a bit off. One of the images in particular looks straight out of Saving Private Ryan. However, historically, leaks for the new CoD do rear their head around this time each year, and inevitably Activision will reveal the truth at E3, so not too long to wait for official confirmation. In the mean time, takes these images with a grain of salt and we’ll be sure to update you if their legitimacy changes.

Sabotage is coming to Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

Tomorrow sees the release of the first DLC for Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. Titled Sabotage the DLC will bring 4 new multiplayer maps and the next terrifying Zombies installment from Willard Wyler’s horror film archive: Rave in the Redwoods. However due to Activisions love of all things Sony and the exclusive deal they have, Xbox One players will probably have to wait till the end of February before they can get their hands on it.

So as you can see from the Preview Trailer, Sabotage is bringing with it four new multiplayer maps in the form of Noir, Renaissance, Neon and Dominion.

Noir – Head to a grim future Brooklyn where a heavy curfew is in place. Navigate tight corners through abandoned city streets in this medium sized classic three-lane map.

Renaissance – Don’t be distracted by the idyllic Venetian canals, this map is an intense urban combat zone funneling fast-paced gameplay through a small, split figure eight design.

Neon – Originally designed for future urban warfare simulation, this “Z” shaped map is a glitched out digital city featuring long sight-lines and flanking routes supporting any style of gameplay.

Dominion – In this reimagining of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 classic map ‘Afghan,’ ranged combat is focused from a variety of strategic vantage points to the center of this sprawling crash site.

Sabotage Maps

Rave in Redwoods is the next Zombies installment from Willard Wyler’s horror film archive, and now that the characters have escaped the deadly theme park they find themselves in an abandoned camp / rave where most of the inhabitants just happen to be Zombies. Will you survive the night and most of all will you avoid becoming a trophy for The Slasher or a tasty meal for Bigfoot.

Infinite Warfare Quartermaster update brings lots of new toys

So we’re all use to the Black Market Dealer updates in Black Ops 3 and therefore Infinite Warfare is no differerent, receiving the first of many updates to come over the year. So what goodies can we now get our hands on?

So as you can see not only can we get our hands on the new EMC Switchblade, the Mauler Sentinel or the KBS Longbow Bombshell, but we also now have access to the new MKII’s offering +15% XP. In fact this update is huge, containing over 100+ MKII’s, 9 new Prototypes and over 600 customisations including Helmets and Accesories, hmmm – choices choices.

Now the one thing I’ve learnt while playing Infinite Warfare Online is that if you want to succeed you are going to need to develop them protoypes. So for those unsure here is a little video on Weapons and Weapon Crafting.

So there you have it, but watch this space as the first DLC titled Sabotage is looming on the horizon and trust me, you wont want to miss that. For further information about the game, check out the Official Website or why don’t you take a look and see what we thought about the game in our review.

Final Map Pack DLC comes to Black Ops 3

The wait is finally over and the last map pack DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is now available to download. Titled Salvation, the DLC follows the same trend as the previous three other map packs by bringing 4 new multiplayer maps and the dramatic climax of the Zombies Origins saga.

Revelations is the final chapter of the Zombies experience and Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai have travelled through space and time to finally discover the identity of the mysterious Doctor Monty in The House. As the heroes face-off against an ancient evil, they must hold the zombie horde back in the ultimate battle between human and undead.

Also included is four new action-packed multiplayer maps, Citadel, Micro, Outlaw and Rupture.

  • Citadel – Once home to a powerful medieval army, this ancient castle now sits broken and abandoned. Tight corners force close-quarters engagements, while the moat and drawbridge allows for unique player movement opportunities in this mid-sized map.
  • Micro – What’s better than a BBQ on a hot summer day? A miniaturised war zone that takes place on a well-stocked family picnic table. Navigate this bite-size battlefield for a larger-than-life experience.
  • Outlaw – Gear up for a showdown in Outlaw; a western-style re-imagining of the fan favourite map Standoff from Call of Duty®: Black Ops II. This rough-and-tough medium-sized map brings classic engagements, flanking routes and strategic positions for long and medium ranged combat.
  • Rupture – The Call of Duty®: World at War classic Outskirts is re-imagined as a high-tech facility, designed by a futuristic society desperate to repair the Earth’s atmosphere.  Take control of one of the facility’s mechs to unleash a barrage of heavy machine gun and rocket destruction.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Salvation is available now to download for free for Season Pass holders on the Xbox One and PC. Otherwise as like the other DLC’s it can be purchased seperately, see online stores for details.

Infinite Warfare disc needed to play Modern Warfare Remastered

Hands up whose excited for Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered? Of that show of hands, who will be buying Infinite Warfare just for Modern Warfare Remastered? And finally, if your hand is still raised, who will be trading Infinite Warfare in right away? Well, think again, this small print may just ruin your plans.

Charlie Intel has spotted the wording on the game’s official website that states that the Infinite Warfare disc must be inserted before you can play the remaster! Looks like those buggers at Activision have thought of everything – shame they aren’t confident in selling their title without tempting those that so desperately crave the Modern Warfare Remaster!

I’m sure the game will eventually make its way out onto the Xbox Store once the initial COD faithful have bought copies and Activision have made enough dollar to continue not giving a damn – am I bitter? – you bet I am!
