Wouldn’t it be nice, if Ubisoft, say, launched a new platform for fans to discover more about the Assassin’s Creed universe? Wouldn’t it be a dream if you could be rewarded with exclusive content on there and meet and communicate directly with the team members behind the game and other members of the Creed community?
Guess what? They’ve only gone and done it.
Ubisoft have revealed the new Assassin’s Creed Council, a place for fans of the series to take advantage of direct access to the developers, get exclusive behind-the-scenes takes on the series and are updated on the most up to the minute news, direct from the game’s producers.
Members will also be able to decide the look and fate of the Council by posting their own content, participate in up/down voting on other member’s content as well as electing members to form an exclusive ‘Council Chamber’ who will win a trip to the studio, meet the developers and participate in special events.

There has already been a building amount of negativity towards this video on the Ubisoft Youtube Channel, with gamers thinking the game is tacked on to Assassin’s Creed III, or that it feels like a cash-in milk it dry addition to the franchise.
Ubisoft have confirmed the next Assassin’s Creed title today – Black Flag. As previously reported it looks all set for the next installment in the franchise to be based around Pirates.
Check out the artwork below and expect a whole lot more information and a trailer on Monday. We are expecting to hear that the main characters name is Edward Kenway, father of Haytham Kenway from Assassin’s Creed 3. Edward is known as a Privateer, Assassin and occasional pirate.
The games location is meant to be set in the Caribbean on multiple islands including Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas. The current game is running on the Xbox 360, but has plans for next generation console’s as well. Finally, Darby McDevitt is the lead script writer, with tie in’s from previous Assassin’s Creed games.
