Three Fields Entertainment announce Danger Zone 2 and Dangerous Driving

Three Fields Entertainment are the brains behind Dangerous Golf and the Burnout inspired Danger Zone. Fans of the Burnout franchise keep a keen eye on what this studio are up to, as a lot of the talent working there are ex-Criterion, who of course were responsible for the Burnout games.

So, those fans would have been overjoyed to hear the announcement made this week of not one, but two new driving games coming from Three Fields. The first is Danger Zone 2 which promises more action and mayhem but this time on real public roads.

The second is a new IP called Dangerous Driving which is a closed track, competitive racing game featuring boost, takedowns and destruction. Both of these new titles offer a huge amount of appeal to those Burnout fans out there keenly awaiting a spiritual successor!

We wont have long to wait either, with Danger Zone 2 out in July and Dangerous Driving out this winter, all on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Danger Zone crashes onto Xbox One in October

Developer and publisher Three Fields Entertainment have announced that their PS4 game “Danger Zone” will be coming to Xbox on October 5th.

The game involves driving vehicles at high speeds into various traffic situations to cause as much damage as possible. It is directly inspired by the Crash mode in the various Burnout games developed by Criterion Games, which the founders of Three Fields had been a part of prior to founding their own studio.

The player takes control of a car situated in a virtual crash test facility, where one of about twenty scenarios are available, featuring parked or moving vehicles and other obstacles. The player’s goal is to score as many points by driving their car into the scenarios (the “First Impact”), creating chain reactions of collisions. If the First Impact causes enough damage, they can then trigger a “SmashBreaker” (similarly to Burnout’s “CrashBreaker”) that causes their vehicle to explode, creating additional chain reactions for damage. Points are awarded based on the degree of damage done, including special points for unique targets and other scenario-specific goals. Players compete through online leaderboards to obtain the best score.

Burnout creators unveil Danger Zone. Crash Mode is back!

Off the back of their debut release, Dangerous Golf, Three Fields Entertainment today announced the long-awaited return of drivable destruction with Danger Zone. Set in a “virtual crash testing facility”, players are invited to drive recklessly in twenty distinct scenarios, causing as much damage and destruction as is vehicularly possible.

Danger Zone shares a lot of DNA with its equally-angry, sporty cousin, with a keen focus on physical realism in the midst of beautiful chaos. The SmashBreaker is back too, of course, equipping players with the licence to strategically detonate their vehicle, in the interest of maximum annihilation.

No word yet on an Xbox One release, but expect Danger Zone to hit Windows 10 next month.
