Treyarch have certainly flaunted their new movement system in Call of Duty Black Ops 3, and now they have released a tutorial video that shows off the system in more detail.
As good as it looks, I can’t help but think that I’m seeing Titanfall in COD clothing. All the moves, mantles and wall runs look a little too familiar, which is fine, I’ve racked up hundreds of hours on Titanfall so watch out ha ha!
Call of Duty Black Ops III’s beta will launch for Xbox One on August 26 – one week later than PS4. The beta will include three maps that have all been developed with Treyarch’s new momentum-based chained-movement system firmly at their core:
And fan favourite modes return for the beta, so don’t expect any surprises:
Capture the Flag
Search & Destroy
The beta will also introduce Black Ops’ new class system – Specialists – which sounds a little similar to how Ubisoft are handling their classes in Rainbow Six Siege. There’s eight to choose from, each can be ranked up and comes with their own weapon preference and ability sets.
Finally, players will also get to experience the new Weapon Paintshop – an evolution of the Emblem Editor – customise the look of your weapon fully with 64 editable layers, I wonder how long it will be before we see a full penis graphic wrapped gun!
Back when several of us pointed to the possibility that Call of Duty would be switching allegiance to PlayStation, we were shunned – told we knew nothing and that this would never happen, mainly because of how deep-seeded the eSports scene was with Xbox and the Call of Duty Championships.
Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar has now confirmed that the Pro scene will indeed be switching to PlayStation and while there’s no denying the success of Call of Duty, is this such a loss to Xbox? Personally I’ve enjoyed the multiplayer less and less with each iteration and with Halo looking to make a huge comeback this year and Gears of War looking like it could be something rather special, will we see a resurgence of Halo and Gears on the Pro scene? Halo has already made quite the bold statement at gamescom, announcing the Halo Championships.
Regardless of your stance, I’m pretty happy that Xbox can stand strong on the back of two very successful exclusive multiplayer games, meanwhile Sony has to buy theirs… let the arguments commence!
So, they don’t “gobble” the deals up. They buy them. You know, I read the same things you do, and I know some people think it’s somehow less expensive to sign third-party exclusives if you have a bigger market-share. I can tell you, it has nothing to do with market share
…so, about that Tomb Raider and Titanfall deal Phil?

The original cast of Call of Duty Zombies are back and looking better than ever in a bonus map based in a Nazi research facility, still sporting the infamous Pack-A-Punch Machine, see Der Riese like never before as you join Dempsey, Nikolai, Richtofen, and Takeo where Origins left off not too long ago.
“The Giant” is a bonus map for Black Ops III and looks to only be a part of the Collector’s Edition, I assume like the Nuke town incentive for Black Ops II, this will be a timed exclusive and possibly available for purchase later down the line in a DLC pack of some sort.
I can not speak for anyone else but I am glad the original cast is finally back! Will you be pre-ordering this? I want that fridge and some Juggernog.
The Call of Duty Endowment initiative has launched an Omaze campaign with the support of Treyarch, offering a variety of Call of Duty Black Ops III rewards and a shot at the main prize – a trip to Treyarch’s studio to be zombified and appear in a future piece of zombie DLC for Black Ops III, you’ll even get a tour of the studio and have lunch with Mark Lamia, Studio Head at Treyarch.
Check out this awesome promo video from the man himself:
Each reward has a limited amount to be claimed, a bit like Kickstarter tiers, and includes a number of entries into the zombie draw, which closes on August 31, 2015 at 11:59pm PST.
Tiers start as low as $10 and go up to $50,000. Rewards include exclusive t-shirts, signed Call of Duty props and memorabilia, and a “walk-on” role in a Call of Duty live action trailer!
Check out their campaign page now for a chance to become a Call of Duty zombie, support veterans finding work outside of the forces, and of course, nab yourself a sweet bit of swag in the process.
Get your beverages on ice with the Juggernog fridge Edition – the centrepiece to Black Ops 3’s OTT Collector’s Edition.
In the past we’ve seen Night vision goggles and drones, but now there’s something that we might be able to use on a daily basis (I’m looking at you Neale – not that you need any encouragement) a full size beer fridge, well I say beer, it can store 12 330ml (12oz) cans – coke-sized cans.
The news comes from a New Zealand site who have the edition up for $289.99, with the contents including:
Fully functional mini fridge with lights and audio from the game
Perk-a-cola coasters and tin
Concept Art cards
The Giant zombies map
Three personalisation packs
Kind of cool, right? I guess the real question is, is this legit? Well, Treyarch did tweet linking to the below Instagram post, which does look about the right size of a mini fridge!
Activision released the following video showcasing both the co-op campaign and Cyber Core tutorial.
Take a deep dive into the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 cooperative campaign with the Cyber Core tutorial and an extended cut from “Ramses Station”. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a dark, gritty future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the cutting-edge military technology that define the future of combat.
Designed for four-player online co-op or solo play, players will encounter epic cinematic moments and open-area gameplay, allowing players to approach the game with a different strategy each time they play. And now your campaign character is completely customisable: from weapons and loadouts, to abilities and outfits, all with full progression systems and a personalised armoury to show off accomplishments.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is released on Friday November 6th for PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
As expected, Black Ops III has jumped over to PlayStation. The game was mysteriously absent from Microsoft’s conference, although with such strong showings from Halo and Gears of War, it’s no surprise that Call of Duty has switched allegiances.
The deal will more than likely be similar to the one that Xbox has enjoyed over the past few years – offering PlayStation the DLC first and a beta, which starts in August.
Some new savings revealed by Major Nelson’s Blog. A few good Call of Duty games available at a reasonable discount, if you’re a zombies fan check out Call of Duty: World at War to experience where it all started.
