Crytek has today announced the acquisition of the IP rights for the Homefront franchise following an auction of assets by THQ recently. Their first association with the game began in autumn 2011, when they announced they would be creating the second game in the series in partnership with THQ. Sadly following THQ’s recent decision to file for bankruptcy and the eventual sale of assets, THQ is over, however as previously reported – Crytek submitted the highest bid to secure the rights to the Homefront franchise.
