RUINER to cause a ruckus on your Xbox

RUINER

Developer Reikon Games and long-time collaborating publisher, Devolver Digital have released a new announcement trailer for their PC and Mac hit, RUINER, revealing that it is coming to Xbox One.

RUINER is a brutal cyber action shooter, set in the year 2091. You are a wired psychopath living in the cyber-metropolis of Rengkok. You are tasked with lashing out against a corrupt corporate system to retrieve your kidnapped brother, under the guidance of a secretive hacker friend. Combine preternatural reflexes, augmented tools and an arsenal of weapons from fallen foes, to tear down and dismantle these ruthless corporate titans that are virtuality dealers, called HEAVEN.

Your reflexes will be put to the test as you take aim at HEAVEN, the morally-suspect monolithic corporation of RUINER. This evil corporation is behind the entertainment networks that bring people real sensations in virtual worlds. As the masked hero, you will utilise a huge array of weaponry and gadgets in concert with fluid movement and tactical strikes to save your missing brother. Along the way you will also discover the dark secrets of Rengkok, a city where dreams can literally come true.

Utilise the gadgets made available to you, Charge; to dash into your enemies with your shield, Energy shield; what it says on the tin, Dash; the ability to speed into your foes and more equipment besides. These foes will include Creeps, HEAVEN security guards, Triad killers and Cyborg Minotaur.

RUINER comes from Reikon Games, a Polish-based developer whose title credits are an impressive list to behold. These include the Witcher series, Dying Light, This War of Mine and Shadow Warrior among others. RUINER is their debut project as a studio and looks to set their stall out on the Xbox.

RUINER is looking to burst through the defences of Xbox One later this year.

Shadow Warrior 2 enters your console early 2017

Get some more Wang in your life for a slashing good time. Shadow Warrior 2 is heading to console in early 2017 – launching on PC in October this year.

The reception to each new bit of Shadow Warrior 2 that we share has been thrilling and our team is excited – and relieved – to finally share our work with the fans,” said Michal Szustak, Studio Director at Flying Wild Hog. “We think our small studio has accomplished something special with Shadow Warrior 2 and hope that both fans of the classic FPS and those that enjoy more modern shooters will enjoy the game.

The sequel builds on the craziness of Wang, bringing an open ‘vertically scalable’ world and procedurally generated loot. To top it all off, it’s also playable with up to three friends in four player co-op!

The game launches on PC with a deluxe edition that includes a soundtrack, digital art book and a set of gold skins – I’m sure this version will be extended to console too.
