NBA Live 18 enters the Xbox EA Access Vault

NBA Live 18 is the latest game to be made available for free in the EA Access vault on Xbox One.

NBA Live 18 is the latest Basketball game from EA. It includes an “Ultimate Team” mode that allows players to draft different players to create a custom roster, similar to the FIFA and Madden series’. It is the first basketball video game to feature a full WNBA roster.

It also features a single-player career mode called “The One,” again similar to “The Journey” story mode in the latest FIFA games. In this mode, the created player has the chance of taking their skills across leagues and even join the NBA Draft and Combine whilst Basketball experts analyse your performance and give their opinion on the direction the player is going to progress through the mode. The game mode allows players to experience basketball life on and off the court with more clothes and a Game Face app for iOS and Android devices, allowing players to scan their face and insert it into the game.

Our very own Dave Moran reviewed this for TiX and gave it a highly respectable 7.5. You can read his review RIGHT HERE!

Star Wars Battlefront 2 announces “The Last Jedi” DLC Season

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available to play now if you’re on Xbox and have EA Access. I downloaded it last night as members to this service also have a 10 hour free trial to take advantage of. PS4 players and non EA Access members start to play from next Friday, November 17th.

EA have followed Destiny 2 in announcing all the content coming to the game for the first month after launch, and included in that is “The Last Jedi” season, which starts on December 5th.

It all starts with choosing a side. On December 5, you’ll have an opportunity to align with the First Order or choose to fight for the Resistance. Your choice is important, as it will allow you to take part in special challenges that will grant your faction specific rewards.

Things kick into high gear on December 13. Your favorite stormtrooper-turned-hero Finn joins the fight for the Resistance and Captain Phasma steps on to the Battlefront for the First Order. They can be purchased with in-game Credits that week. Whichever faction is victorious in completing the most challenges that week will net a reward as well: a special Crate of high-power upgrades for Finn or Captain Phasma.

New locations and vehicles will also arrive. On December 13, the cinematic content from Star Wars™: The Last Jedi continues with a new planetary map: Crait. The Starfighter Assault map of D’Qar will join as well, plus a new hero ship –  Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-wing. Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing is also upgraded with a new ability inspired by Star Wars™The Last Jedi .

Iden Versio returns. In Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II Resurrection, you’ll join Commander Iden Versio during the days of the First Order’s rise to power. These new chapters of Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II’s single-player story mode will be available December 13.

Your choice of faction will continue to matter. Throughout December, you’ll see your chosen faction’s progress reflected in-game, as you fight alongside allies from around the world to swing the tide of battle.

For all the juicy details check out the official website. See you on the Battlefront!

Battlefield 1 joins EA Access FREE in the Vault

Yes, it was announced a few weeks ago and now Battlefield 1 is available for free with EA Access on the Xbox One.

We loved it here at Tix, with Rich scoring it a whopping 9.5/10 and saying “Battlefield 1 is an incredible triumph, bringing the events of World War I to life without shying away from the tragedy of all those lives lost during the conflict. It’s bleak, beautiful, harrowing and thoughtful, and remarkably it’s still entertaining.”

You can read our Battlefield 1 review here!

Battlefield 1 arrives in the vault just ahead of the launch of the next big expansion pack – In The Name Of The Tsar, which we previewed as part of our E3 coverage.

Titanfall 2 now available on EA Access, ready up, pilots

Ready up, Pilots, EA Access has added Titanfall 2 to the vault for subscribers to play.

If you haven’t played it then you are missing out on a treat, it was our Shooter of the Year (alongside Battlefield 1, but TF2 was really our favourite) – it has a fantastic single player campaign and the multiplayer is a brilliant experience.

Best of all, it has been brilliantly supported and all the DLC is free! Head over to the EA Access vault now to start downloading.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Beta Date Announced

Loads of news happening in the gaming world about Star Wars Battlefront 2 and its predecessor at the moment with Battlefront DLC available on EA Access. Now EA have announced that the Battlefront 2 beta will be running from the 6th to the 9th October, or, if you pre-order, available 2 days earlier, running 4th October through to the 9th.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is released on 17th November 2017, and subscribers to EA Access will be able to play about a week earlier!

The beta lets you play 2 game modes;

  • Galactic Assault on Naboo –  This is a 40-player battle on the streets of Theed. You choose from four trooper classes: Assault, Heavy, Officers and Specialists. There well may be some surprises too, with the possibility of classic heroes and vehicles available.
  • Starfighter Assault. This lets you take part in a space battle set during the original trilogy era. You pilot various Star Wars ships in an objective-based, multi-stage battle.

We saw the Galactic Assault level at E3, and it did look quite special.

Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 coming to EA Access

The EA Access service just seems to get better and better. EA have announced that Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 are being added to the game vault sometime between now and September. Titanfall 2 was originally excluded from EA Access at launch, leading to speculation that it wouldn’t be available free in the vault in the future, which is obviously now not the case.

Both games are still being supported and added to by the developers, with all content for Titanfall 2 being free, with new maps and game modes being added on a regular basis. Check out the official website for more information.

Titanfall 2 has become a recent addition to the TiX crew’s multiplayer game nights, so if you see us online then we would love you to join us!

Battlefield 1 also has an upcoming update which was announced at E3 – Check it out here – Battlefield 1; In the Name of the Tsar Expansion revealed

Also coming to EA Access are game trials of the latest versions of the 2018 branded EA Sports titles, namely FIFA 18, Madden NFL 18, NBA Live 18 and NHL 18. All will be playable first on Xbox One with an EA Access subscription, which is £19.99 per year.

Mass Effect Andromeda to hit EA Early Access on March 16th

The official Mass Effect Andromeda Twitter have sent out a tweet replying to Twitter user @N7Follower confirming that the BioWare space RPG will be coming to Xbox One’s EA Early Access on March 16th.

ME Andromeda early access tweet

This came as a bit of a surprise, as originally it seemed it would hit Early Access only a couple of days before release, but it looks like EA Access subscribers will get to enjoy 10 hours of the hotly anticipated title eight days before it hits shelves, with all save progress carried over if you buy the full game.

The EA vault gets even better

EA Access is one my favourite Xbox features, whether it’s trials games for up to 10 hours or the discount you get on full purchases it’s great value for money and then there is the vault.

Unravel, Mirrors Edge Catalyst to name just a couple and now… Star Wars Battlefront.

Hugely popular with the team at TiX and now it’s free for EA Access subscribers, Happy Days!
