EA provides New Hope with details of Star Wars Battlefront 2

At the EA Play conference as part of E3 2017, details have been announced of Star Wars Battlefront 2. Presented by lead character actress, Janina Gavankar, who plays the role of Iden Versio, she stated that Battlefront 2 will have 3 times the content of the original game. Star Wars Battlefront II will release on November 17th 2017.  There was also a new trailer which you can watch below!

So, what have we found out from the conference. To start with EA did not go into much detail of the single player campaign, which focuses on the aforementioned Iden Versio, a member of the galactic empire, and the game starts as Return of the Jedi ends. Instead they focussed on the multiplayer, showing the Assault on Theed map, which is set in Naboo, from the prequel movies.

All DLC will be free, and will be released as seasons, with the first being The Last Jedi and will feature Finn and Captain Phasma and will be released in December 2017.  Heroes already confirmed are Darth Maul, Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Rey, Kylo Ren, Boba Fett and Han Solo.  The multiplayer gameplay featured these characters, along with Stormtroopers, Shock Troopers and even the Battle Droids from The Phantom Menace.

“With Star Wars Battlefront II, we’ve really taken feedback from our players to heart, and you see that in the base game, which has so much more content than the first game – a new authentic single player campaign, epic multiplayer, starfighter battles, and solo or co-op PvE on console – a huge game across all eras of the Star Wars films,” says Matt Webster, Executive Producer on Star Wars Battlefront II. “But just as important is how we support the game after launch. Our live service is built around the philosophy of keeping our fans playing together, with seasons that will add meaningful content and in game events on a regular basis.”

Star Wars Battlefront 2 does appear to be the game that Battlefront 1 should have been, covering all eras of the Star Wars movies, and will appeal to any fan of the series.

EA give you A Way Out

One of the two games we mentioned in our news post only the other day has been announced at EA Play.

From the makers of Brothers: A tale of two sons, A Way Out is a co-op only game uniquely tailored for two players to work together no matter the situation. Through a compelling narrative, Leo and Vincent will embark on an emotional adventure, where they will live some memorable action moments that they will face together including car chases, stealth passages, melee fights, shootouts and many more.

The story of A Way Out begins in prison with two separate inmates, Leo and Vincent, who don’t know each other. While their individual stories progress, players will have to build a relationship based on trust as they break both men out of prison into the world beyond. This co-op only experience is meant to be played together with a friend on a couch or online.

A Way Out will be available in early 2018.

Two unannounced games feature at EA PLAY?

EA promise to unveil eight games during their EA PLAY event. The titles included are Star Wars Battlefront II, FIFA 18, Madden NFL 18, NBA LIVE 18, Need for Speed Payback and new DLC for Battlefield 1.

For those keeping count, that’s six titles – yet EA promise a first look at eight titles – immediately after the stream, an extended broadcast will feature Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes so could that count for one of the two mystery titles? Could the missing title be the rumoured title to rival Destiny?

Tune in to find out via the handy embedded video below, which will go live from 12:00pm–1:30pm PT on June 10.
