Hitman July Update and Mr Giggles revealed as final Elusive Target

It always gives me great pleasure to write up news about Hitman, and I am so looking forward to writing the news piece about the launch of Season 2! Until then, IO Interactive keeps the updates coming and the July patch has released this week.

According to IO the July update has made the game “more satisfying and viable for all players.” In particular, the developer has reduced the rate of NPC pistols. It has also reduced the amount of damage that players take at mid- to long distances, while the rate their health recovers has been increased. Full patch notes are below.

The final (sob) elusive target has also been reveales as “Mr Giggles” an entertainer of the more macabre kind. He will be somewhere in Marrakesh for the next 10 days, and as usual I will be recording my attempt for your viewing pleasure. The last elusive target went well for me as you can see below!

The Hitman July 2017 Patch Notes are;

  • Xbox One Loading Times – After a recent update, Xbox One users reported to us that the game was taking longer to load than usual, especially when restarting a contract. We’ve looked into this and now have the Xbox One loading times back to where they should be. Thanks to our Xbox One players who reported this.
  • Excuse me, I found a weapon – We’ve fixed an issue that could cause guards to repeatedly drop weapons that they discovered on the ground. This issue was prominent on The Icon mission.
  • Bathroom Break – We’ve fixed an issue that could cause the toilet in the Marrakesh school to behave erratically after 47 kicks it onto Zaydan. This could occasionally result in 47’s death. Seriously.
  • Cancelling Connecting – We’ve fixed an issue that could cause players to inadvertently cancel the “connecting” prompt and enter “Offline Mode.”
  • Opportunity Lost After Loading – We’ve fixed an issue that could cause the Opportunity Marker (the little light bulb) to disappear after a save/load cycle.
  • Trespassing v Hostile Area – We’ve implemented a fix for a Known Issue from our June Update. The “Trespassing” and “Hostile Area” status messages on the mini-map now display correctly.
  • Maximum Mastery – We heard that some players have had issues unlocking the trophies/achievements associated with reaching Mastery level 20 in various locations. We’ve implemented a change so that the game will re-check whether you have reached level 20 when you launch the game and award the appropriate trophies/achievements.
  • Unconscious Witness – We’ve also implemented a fix for the other Known Issue from our June Update. The “Unconscious Witness” status on the mini-map is know displayed correctly.
  • Miscellaneous Bug Fixes – We’ve fixed other minor issues across the board to keep the game in fantastic shape.

Those familiar with Agent 47’s career antics should be no stranger to the idea of the Elusive Target. Well it’s that time again and Target 9 is now live, your next target is The Black Hat.

This time however the Elusive Target is a little different as this is the first target where you DON’T get a picture of their face to help you recognise them. Therefore you will need to use all your skills to track them down. The one thing we can tell you about the target is that he likes Jam a lot. Also word of warning, just avoid the security cameras at all costs.

Hitman receives Companion App and toughest Elusive Target yet

You cannot deny that Hitman is a great game and with the introduction of Elusive Targets the challenge and thrill of the hunt got so much better (you should ask our very own Max about that) but I couldn’t help but think there was something missing? Well the team at lo-Interactive and Square Enix might have just cracked that in the form of the Hitman Companion App.

Now you can really feel like Agent 47 as you receive your next Elusive Target directly to your phone. Notifications will appear via the app on your phone as soon as the Elusive Target goes live. You’ll be able to view the image, countdown and briefing video of the target for the duration of the contract. Now you can play the game whilst using the app to view the image of the target. This is key, as before you didn’t have any assistance from the in-game map to aid in their successful identification and elimination.

Hitman Companion

Not only will the App keep you up to date with Elusive Targets, but it will also keep you posted with all the latest news and information about what’s been added to the game, wherever you are.

Download the free app for iOS compatible with the iPhone 4S and later, iOS 8 is required

Download the free app for Android, API level 15 or above is required (“Ice Cream Sandwich” 4.0.3)

The current version of the HITMAN Companion is not optimized for tablets. Phones are recommended.

The Next Elusive Target

Hitman 'The Twin' Elusive Target

Armed with the new Companion App the next Elusive Target is just around the corner. On Friday 15th July you will face the toughest challenge yet as you are requested to eliminate Dylan Narvaez, aka ‘The Twin’. Dylan with be in Sapienza for 72 hours but so will his identical brother, Gonzales. To complete this contract, you will need to choose your target with supreme care and come up with a plan to eliminate him without any collateral damage whatsoever to Gonzales. Failure to do this will result in the contract being cancelled.

So will you be downloading and using the new app from now on and what do you think of the new Elusive Target coming on the 15th, let us know?

Fourth Elusive Target now available

The fourth Elusive Target, ‘The Sensation’ becomes live across all platforms, as E3 opens its doors today.

You have 53 hours to complete the contract.

Elusive Targets are part of the live content being published for HITMAN in-between episodes and represent a new game mode debuting for players.  They are not going to be easy but if you can prove yourself, you’ll earn in-game rewards for completing multiple Elusive Target contracts, such as signature suits from previous Hitman games.  You will receive the first reward for successfully completing 5 Elusive Target contracts – the Hitman Absolution Signature Suit, with ICA tie pin and black leather gloves.

The Elusive Targets are specially crafted, unique targets, which come with particular rules:
