The fourth video in a series of “side stories” for The Farm 51’s upcoming Get Even has just hit—and it’s just as bizarre and unsettling as you might expect.
Lovely stuff. More uncomfortable videos and cunning conundrums are promised to appear on the game’s official Facebook page each and every week up until the game’s release on May 26th on Xbox One. We’ll see you at the party!
Bandai Namco’s Get Even is coming out on May 26th on Xbox One and is been touted as “unlike any game you’ve previously experienced”.
Described as mixing multiple fun mechanics and featuring superior storytelling, incredible 3D sound design and stand-out composed music by Olivier Deriviere and writing by Stephen Long and Iain Sharkey, Get Even appears to be a real labour of love for Bandai Namco.
The single player narrative experience, where nothing is what it seems, is set to shock, scare and stir deep emotions as you experience the journey.
In the lead up to launch the studio, musicians and writers have created a series of ‘side story videos’. These will appear weekly and give you snippets of intriguing information, however you’ll have to find out for yourself what happens.
It’s true. Back in January we brought you news of The Farm 51’s hyper-realistic shooter, Get Even.
Initially, we were promised a 2015 release date and now the Polish developer have announced a publishing deal for the eagerly anticipated title, none other than the behemoth that is Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.
Get Even is the psychological thriller movie genre made into a video game, blurring the lines between the two and belnding the frantic tension of the first-person shooter with the oppressive intimacy of a complex personal investigation.
Herve Hoerdt , Vice President of IP Strategy, Digital, Marketing and PR at Bandai Namco;
We are very proud to be collaborating with The Farm 51 on this promising title. Get Even will definitely be one of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s key titles in the upcoming year. With it’s movie-like approach and it’s mature, intimate story, all players should keep an eye on this game!”
The downside in this announcement is that release looks to have been put back until 2016 now but this hasn’t stopped Wojciech Pazdur, The Farm 51’s Development Director from feeling pretty happy about the publishing deal;
We’re pleased to be working with Bandai Namco Entertainment to publish Get Even globally. We are convinced that they are deeply committed to help us make this game a unique experience. Not only will Bandai Namco publish Get Even, but they are also helping us on a production level and fully support our vision of the game. We believe Get Even is an innovotive landmark in the FPS genre and expertise provided by Bandai Namco will be a very important factor in helping us realise its potential.
So, it looks like we’ll have to wait that little bit longer to Get Even, but it should be worth the wait.
Polish developers, The Farm 51 have announced upcoming FPS ‘Get Even’. The developer behind Painkiller, and Deadfall Adventures have been using 3D scanning to create some visually stunning environments like we have never experienced before – don’t believe us? Check out the incredibly realistic looking trailer….
“As an independent developer, it would be foolish to go head-to-head with the larger companies and create a ‘me too’ knock-off, and frankly we wouldn’t be interested in doing it,” said The Farm 51 CEO, Wojtek Pazdur.
“We believe that there is still a ton of content and design creativity that has yet to be explored in first-person genre, as well as an audience beyond the warfare player – those are the people we are going for with Get Even.”
Get Even is due to land at some point in 2015 for PC, XboxOne, and PS4. We look forward to hear more about this title as the game develops over the next year.
