Rockstar Games has confirmed the worst kept secret in gaming history this year – The critically-acclaimed and record-breaking Grand Theft Auto V comes to a new generation this fall. That’s right folk’s – the Xbox One will receive its own version of the top selling game later this year. If you traded in your Xbox 360 and never quite finished the intense and violent stories of the three main characters – then you’re next shout is only a mere few months away!
Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will take full advantage of the power of new generation systems to deliver the ultimate open-world experience. Previously leaked (or assumed) by many European retailers, we’ll keep you updated on the release date as soon as we hear of anything.
Saturn, an electronics department store chain in Germany use an actor to portray some kind of media geek to advertise many of the store’s products. Their character known as, TECH-NICK is used across a range of in-store advertising promotions and online media who also tweets on behalf of the company. Through the “Verified” promotional twitter account of Saturn Germany, TECH-NICK stated:
Da ich grad gefragt wurde: Das Release von #GTAV für PC, XBOX One und PS4 wird für Juni erwartet…
As english translation would have it “Since I was asked: The release of #GTAV for PC, XBOX One and PS4 is expected in June…” The account later tweeted that this was a rumour and the industry is well aware of nothing, but he’ll keep his followers updated.
Rumours of Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One being released in June have now been circulating across a range of EU retailers including, Czech Republic’s SUPERGAMER, and Romania’s ALTEX. It is unlikely that developer’s Rockstar Games will announce anything officially until E3 2014 this June.
An Xbox One release of Grand Theft Auto V has already been rumoured for some time already having been reported on thisisxbox early February. What was an originally outed for Xbox One by a Czech Republic retailer has now evolved into Romania, as their retailer’s are also taking pre-orders for the hotly tipped title.
A well known Romanian retailer called Altex are also accepting pre-orders for the game on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 with an estimated June 15th 2014 release date. As we’ve said before – Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One, PS4 and PC are all likely to resemble each other very closely and feature more explicitly intricate detailing visually than what you see on Xbox 360 and PS3. It would be a great move to release such a massive title as this on our next-gen systems, so should anything get confirmed from Rockstar Games in the coming weeks, we’ll keep you posted.
More information may come to light at E3 2014 this June!
