The Witness confirmed for Xbox One

The Witness released as a timed exclusive for PS4 earlier this year and it seemed that a port would soon make it’s way to Xbox One – this was unfortunately denied by president of Thekla Inc., Jonathan Blow. Now it seems that The Witness will indeed come to Xbox One – launching September 13.

IGN first caught wind of the news, now Xbox Wire have confirmed the release I’m ready to get excited for its imminent release. The open puzzle world will strike a chord with those who played the excellent PC puzzler Myst.

We’ve gotten lots of requests to bring The Witness to Xbox One. People tweet at me about this all the time! So we are happy to say that this is happening soon: The Witness will be downloadable on Xbox One starting September 13, 2016.

The Witness comes to Xbox One in September

Jonathan Blow has revealed to IGN that his latest game, The Witness, will be coming to Xbox One in September.

Thekla Inc. are aiming for a release date of September 13th, and say that the Xbox One version won’t differ from its PC or PS4 versions.

There are some technical differences, but it’s basically the same game,

Blow told IGN,

I feel like that would kind of… mess up the game,

Release date targets don’t always hold true but here’s hoping we’ll see The Witness hit Xbox One shortly.
